Red Fox Question

Does the Hot Trick Red Fox chassis mount to a stock Fox front end? For the rear you can mount the Hot Trick rear kit or the stock Fox rear end. For the front, the catalog and anything I have seen says you must use the Hot Trick Red Fox front end or a RC-10 front end. But, what about the stock front end?

Thanks for the help, I know there are a few here with the Red Fox or Lohas one.

I'm afraid the answer is no. The problem arises with where you mount the front suspension which in turn allows you to mount the front shock(s). You either mount the front suspension to the Hot Trick Red Fox/RC10 end or to the original Fox chassis. The original Fox chassis does not have a separate front end in terms of where the suspension is mounted - the mounting area is at the front of the all-in-one chassis. Only the bumper and skid plate are separate at the front end from the original chassis and they don't allow any mounting of the front suspension/shock(s).

I see. You'd have to cut off the front of the Fox and mount it onto the Hot Trick chassis. And, it would probably fall off at first impact. Thanks for the answer. So, did anyone ever actually mount a RC-10 front to it like it suggests? That would be a crazy set-up.

Correct.

I've never seen an original RC10 front end mounted to the Hot Trick Red Fox chassis. Don't see why it can't be done though, although it would be missing the positions on the main chassis to which the RC10 metal stiffening rods (that link the chassis and noseplate) could be attached...

Actually you don't "cut off" the front of the fox chassis. There is a nose plate, much like the RC10 nose plate, that bolts to the flat main chassis. The Red Fox nose plate has a couple of bend in it to make the mounting points for the upper and lower suspension arms, and the shocks.

See it here: http://www.rcchopshop.com/hottrick/redfox.html

There were some posts on here of a new built Lohas Red Fox, and also a Hot Trick Frog that someone had used the RC10 front end on.

Losiman,

Thanks for the links. The Red Prince with the RC10 front Is wild.

To put the front end of the Fox on with the mono shock and all, you would have to cut the chassis and attach it to the holes on the Red Fox. I don't think it would work at all, and you would ruin the Fox.
