Please help me figure out how to get the paint off of this body without destroying it in the process. Painted on inside.

P.S. Is this an original RC10 body?

Dot 4 brake fluid works best. Dot 3 works fine but it takes longer. I've done two bodies using this method and it worked great each time.

That's an Associated Sidewinder body that came on the TQ10. You can get reproductions from TBG on ebay:

Thanks for suggestions. Have some Dot 3...will try it first. Doesn't work will try some simple green.

Thanks for info on body. Do I have the TQ10 or RC10 or what: http://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=26692

Was the TQ10 simply a graphics change form the RC10?

Thanks for info guys.

P.S. DOT 3 working great, but as stated little slow. Will post pic when she is done.

Glad it's working! I laid rags soaked in brake fluid on the inside of the body and let it set for about a week for it to get in all the small areas. I scraped off the heavy paint that was peeling with a plastic scraper after a few days. Then I added more brake fluid and let the rags soak inside the body for another day or two. And finally used my fingernails while wearing rubber gloves to get into the corners and creases.

I also set the body covered with the rags inside of a plastic shopping bag to keep the fluid from spilling out.

I only suggested simple green because I found brake fluid took weeks and green took hours but you seem to have better results which makes me wonder what I'm doing wrong??
Maybe it was the paint type I was tring to strip?? hmmmm.

Maybe the original paint was the brush-on Tamiya stuff...Pactra will not come off without a great deal of messing around.

Mine was definitely brush on...I could see the brush strokes.

Trying to clean the optima mid off now. It has silver brushed paint inside and yellow outside. Not coming off nearly as easy as the RC10 paint.

Later: DOT 3 eventually worked on the yellow....got some "DOT 3 and 4"

Definitely not the color I was wanting, but I think it looks better now:

Trying simple green now...I am doubtful.

Can anyone else attest to simple green removing paint?
