Anybody have any info on this motor I just won off of eBay? It appears to be brand new never used as the mounting holes still have paint in them and the shaft hasn't been ground for a pinion yet.

If you notice it also appears the tabs that hold the endbell on have been removed. I'm under the impression that its part of what was done in conjunction with the bearings.

I wouldn't doubt that the arm was rewound back in those days.

Interesting...never seen one that looked like that before.

Looks like there were scratches on the can before it was painted blue and the the label was then put on it. BTW, the revtech motor decals could be purchased on separate sheets. I don't recall the company that made them, but I use to buy them all of the time.

I'd say Autographics.

You know from reading the other thread on these, I think it just might. The seller stated in the auction that he started to take the tape off and thought there might be screws underneath but stopped.

I noticed the few marks on the can under the paint as well. I'm under the impression that these motors were built/modified by hand. Maybe cans with imperfections were used or maybe the cans got a little banged up during assembly before being painted. This motor also could have been completely rebuilt back in the day as a backup but never used. Nothing about it looks recently done but it could also be a restoration by someone as well... I guess we'll never know.
