I am curious about who has their first Trophy. Maybe a one special trophy that you have.
In fact do you still have your trophys from the good old days? I remember at my local track it was a very big deal for "Trophy Day". It happened I think 3 or 4 times a yr.
Now days it's only really big meets like State Titles & the Nats.

I still have all my trophies and ribbons from my early days of carpet oval racing during 1993-95. I have one larger trophy from an oval championship A-main race and one from a King of the Hill B-main race from my local track back then.

Didn't see trophy days at Knox , they were only at cup and state/ national events. Got an invite to the state titles at keilor but lost a dog bone in practice. All I have is a pile of novice and stock cardboard award certificates with an illustration of a hot shot or similar.

I still have my first one... intererestingly, it was a medal... my 5 yo loves to play with it! regarding cups, they take a lot of space so i gave them away to the local tracks a couple of years ago so they can distribute trophies to the younger drivers for local races

i still have all of mine. an acrylic plaque is still two side taped to a wall in my old bedroom at my parents house (been there since '91). my mom says i can't have it back until she feel like repainting the room, just in case it rips the paint off the wall trying to remove it.

All mine were donated in 1990 or so. My avatar is a photo I took of them all just before they went. I have several from the past few years- our local club awards trophies for 3 points series each season, plus I have a couple plaques (including VONats ones). The last couple club series that I won, I had the director donate the money back to the club. They are all collecting dust on my basement window sills.

You might remember ren from rab hobbies then. He was in moors bin then highett then closed for many years and started up again near my old house. I had a rc shop in melb too until about the time he opened up so I had heaps of left over stock(consignment) in his new parkdale shop. He's now sponsoring the on road guys at bendigo. I'll be doing a bit of sponsoring in Canberra soon too as I'm starting up another shop/ distribution too, but that's to be discussed later:) There are a few rc clubs up that way but here is the most active.... There is also a link to national vintage racing too:). They race at St Ives over Christmas. Everyone bring their worlds replicas and dads (papa) as mechanics:)

Great stuff guys.
All I ever wanted is one trophy when I was a teenager. My first came in 88 than I got a 2nd in 4wd mod at the state titles. Really should have won it as i was in the lead by 1/4 of a lap buit pushed my Mid a little too hard & dumped. Still was good for a 2nd.
Gave up racing after that for 10 yrs. Was in the Final at another state titles in 98. This time with a Losi XX4WE . Got Third overall.
Next special is my 3rd place in the "B" Final of the BRCA ( 2002) at Stotfold in England. Doesn't sound flash but there was a C,D,E & F finals.
Did the same again in 2wd mod of the BRCA .
Yep lots of podiums but no First place.
I have kept every trophy .

I think I still have all of them... I think
Special ones:
cup without label on the foot.
The club made a mistake and had 2 cups with third or second, can't remember which. Anyways; I notice it, the presidents removes the label and promissed I'd get the correct one...never happened
recent cup: got it for running my vintage ultima for over 8 minutes in the rain and thus finishing second over the people with more brains and less guts

...cost me my ESC actually. As I pulled the car off thetrack I held it up and wather ran from the moterleads into the esc... white smoke...done.
My only first place plaque: running standard class in an indoor winter challenge over several races. Like many of my trophees more of a reward for my regular presence than for my drivingskills
