I wanted to put the right chassis underneath my Tamiya 30th anniversary Porsche 394 body. I figured what better chassis than my old RC10, my first RC car. The beauty of it was, the drive train was correct for the body rear engined and RWD. After a little comparison of the wheel bases, I knew I couldn't use the original gold tub, so I purchased some nice 3.1mm carbon fiber plate, a RC10DS conversion kit from ebay below are the results. I'm very happy with how it came out, I was really worried the track width would cause me issues with the HPI cup car Porsche wheels, but it worked out perfect without any fine tuning. Just as a couple notes, I did use the Traxxas front hubs, carriers, axles and hexes, and I used a Tamiya F1 servo mount to secure the servo.

That looks great. Could you post a pic of the front axle setup? I would like to run hex wheels on mine.

Thanks everyone for the kind words. Someone asked about the front hubs and carriers, I used the Traxxas Stampede front hubs and carriers that a lot of other people are using on their RC10DS's to use touring wheels. As for the wheels, they are HPI cup racer Porsche wheels, which I then painted the inner portion with thinned black paint. As far as the 2WD Rally racing goes, it drives great. I run two classes at my track, RallyCross and Vintage Rally, and the differences are substantial. The RallyCross cars are all either FWD or AWD, so they are very forgiving when driven hard. All of the Vintage Rally cars are RWD, and they all require real patience in driving as compared to the RallyCross cars. It's a lot of fun though, as everyone is in the same boat, so all of the cars are going around the track slower and more carefully. Currently, there is a Alfa Romeo Guila, a Datsun 510, a European Ford Escort Mk2, a Datsun 240Z, and my Porsche in the Vintage Rally class. They all look spectacular racing together.

Good job on the DS, it looks so nice all clean! It probably looks just as good after a rally though.
