Jascot's Edinger RC10

Like so many others, I've finally pulled my faithful RC10 out of mothballs now that my son is old enough to appreciate such things, at least somewhat. Mine was a Christmas present in about 1986. I raced at a LHS for the next several years, mostly indoors on carpet during the winter months, and I did fairly well considering the rather tight budgets I was working with as a high school student. Its a later Edinger edition car, and I still have the original box and manuals for it.
I've had the old car out occasionally over the years, though mostly just for an occasional run in the street for nostalgia's sake. After discovering rc10talk.com and a few other good RC sites, I'm finally fixing up the poor thing to a proper shape. The only tires I had left in any shape at all are the old foam tires in the pictures, and they're in pretty poor shape anymore after running on pavement over the years. Since the pictures, I've upgraded the wheels with some JC Racing wheels and new Dirt Hawgs tires, I've rebuilt the diff and put in new bearings all around, and I just added a Hobbywing EZrun 13T Brushless ESC/Motor. Wow is that motor a huge difference! I also have a new Flysky radio on the way to hopefully get rid of the glitches that've plagued the car basically since I quit running it actively. I'm also slowly working on a new Protech body for it, hopefully to be done in the next week or two.

I've also added a more modern vehicle to the garage, better suited for hard bashing or if my son or his friends want to try driving. Or if we want to race, not that it stands a chance against a real racing car. Got it as an open box special from Tower Hobbies about 2 months ago. Fun little truck, though its steering has been a headache and I swear parts are easier to find for the old RC10 than for this as everything seems to be backordered most places.
