after seeing the chromed out sprinters on rc10talk, i just couldnt resist having one on my shelf. ive been scoping to purchase one and rebuild - and finally the one for me popped up on ebay. i think it may have belonged to a new member here looking for a "whats it worth", but im not 100% sure. anyway, it is pretty far down the assembly line for a restore right now. all i know right now, and from little research i did, is that its an ascot. were they numbered like this?
thanks.

i know the rear cage is upside down, thats the way it came before i realized it easily slipped out

I've got one that looks very similar to this one, I have the original box still. I honestly can't recall if its an Ascot like yours. Pretty sure it is. I do not have a numbered plate though. I'll try to dig it out and post pictures sometime later. Does your car have a stealth or six gear Trans?

ok, found car and box....I for some reason put the rear bumper/ guard somewhere else ( damned stupid kid I was) I know I have it floating around somewhere. Mine does not have an aluminum tag but the box has #98 on it. pictured were aluminum/brass headers but in the description "aluminum" was crossed out with a marker, kinda funny. heres some pics. Also, looks to go along with the early serial# as it has the six gear trans. I'm sure a person could assemble it with a stealth trans too

There is an interest in them for sure. More than likely its a summer thing that people have lives outside of the computer that they aren't responding. Another thing is maybe those who have read it have no idea of an answer...like me

i think most/all the boxes had #98 on them honestly. I cant see them changing the # each box they printed.

We would need to see more kit boxes to be sure.

I would think the same way actually, doesn't look like a rubber stamp number or anything simple to do. Do you think the aluminum tag was made as a one off thing? that's something east to do....but I also can't imagine that there were 97 designs prior to mine :?

The number #98 is historically associated with Cary Agajanian's father J.C. who fielded cars at Indianapolis for years using the #98 including Parnelli Jones' 1963 Indy winning Watson roadster. I had an Ascot Sprinter kit but didn't have the brass plate as I think those were included in a more expensive kit.

ok, that's good to know. I had wondered what significance there was for the #98. I didn't think it reasonable that they would print a serial number on the box but I also didn't see that it could have been the 98th model/ design. thanks for the info
