Picked this up recently, Plan on doing a good cleanup and replacing the missing batt holder and the ruined radio top plate.

First surprise was it came with a minty Team box. Probably no big deal but I like to have the box for the cars.

Overall its a little dirty and shows signs of use but I would say its in very good condition for being used and probably close to 20yrs old. The chassis has a few scratches. the one in the nose is the deepest but the others aren't bad. probably go over them with a sharpie to hide them a little. The top plate is getting replaced soon to get rid of that ugly hole the previous owner made.

Here's a question for anyone with a manual for this kit or knows better than me. I know the front end upper plates need to be installed a different way than they are. the fitment just seems too poor the way it is.

And another extras pile the seller threw in. Nothing special. Just a few new parts and a handful of hardware and odds and ends (not pictured)

Hi Todd looks good! These kits were rush to market I don't remember exactly how they went together. 1st batch had bad tranny cases I remember they melted if it was hit with motor spray had recall. Man I hated that pipe very loud and raspy.

I used spacers for the front and thin slot screws under the front body posts.

Started the cleaning while waiting on a few parts. So far its coming pretty clean. The engine was seized from the gummed up fuel but it freed right up in some warm water, after a good cleanout and a couple drops of after run she's good. Looks like it has barely been ran. Figured ide post a couple pics before dinner.

That does look good and nice job cleaning it up. I did not know it was chain driven. Pretty neat.

Sorry if I stole these from anyone on eBay recently but Ive needed this upper deck forever now so I can get rid of the LXT upper deck. The other parts are just a bonus for me. New chassis and new hydradrive conversion for the RC10T conversion
I'm excited to get this one finished up. Body is off at the painters too 8)

And the truck as it sits for anyone who hasn't seen it in my garage thread

That looks nice!
Chain drive is one of those strange things I've always had a primal attraction towards, probably from my long pre-RC history of building big 120Lb robots

I have a old kit too. I gave up looking for parts to rebuild mine a long time ago. I drive it hard so I made my own parts. The stock carb is junk. It kept falling off. I replaced it with a 10A carb. Much better now. I machined a new radio tray and chassis. The stock one was too thin and flexed and I wore out the countersink holes. Chasiss is now 1/8" as is the radio tray. I replaced the both sprockets with hard machined ones. The plastic diff sprockets won't last long and I replaced the chain drive with stainless steel chain. Much stronger than the the stock one. I replaced the transmission mounts with aluminum ones and I replaced the spur gear/brake drum with a new one. The brake drum wore down in size. The brake setup is very poor stopping. I had to machined a whole new clutch setup as the old one wore out and parts were impossible to find. The clutch shoes were a bad idea for this truck. I replaced it with a MIP clutch shoe. I replaced the tank with a bigger one to run 10 min. you could barley run 5 min with the stock tank. :( I had to replace the stock rear suspension mounts with aluminum ones that I made. I broke the RPM and stock plastic ones. :( I still have the origional box. :D So I never need to look for parts for this kit. I made several spares. :)
