Anyone knows what is a good stock (non-rebuildable) motor lathe?

Or should I just stick with comm sticks and new brushes for motors that old...?

I remember opening up the stock motors and turning the comms on a mod lathe.
Just the 2 little bent tabs holding it together right.

Thanks. I've got a nice automated mod motor lathe (picked it up for not much when a local shop was blowing them out), but stock lathes are hard to find and often expensive.

How hard is it to bend the tabs on the motor housing back into place?

Twister is the best at that time when you could tru comms in the can.

From what I remember...
Take out brushes and springs.
A thin bladed screw driver could pry up the tabs. Be careful you dont stab yourself!
No need to pry them too much. Hold the motor housing and tap the pinion shaft lightly on a workbench.
Should pop right out.
Then putting it back would use a small punch tool. Give the punch a rap with a hammer to bend the tab down.
Best to punch on the end of the tab just like it was.

the one thing i remember i hated was the spring post that were not pre threaded and you had to pound them back in. i think it was cobra that came out with aftermarket ones.
