Hi all.

Just wanted to introduce myself since im a new member of this forum so thats one more Losi fan added.

First wanted to say really like this forum and the builds you guys make really inspired me to keep my vintage truck alive..

My little Losi story:
I think around 15 years aggo i got into RC off road racing and my first car i bought was the Losi XXT truck 2nd hand from a club member. I raced the truck for about 2 years did some dutch championships but nothing to special. I think at some point other boy things got more interesting at that age :D so my truck ended up somewhere on the attic.
So after cleaning up the attic this year i found my little truck sitting in a box and thought lets see if we can get it running again.. quickly found out that the 1700 mAH Ni-Cd batt and 16 turn brushed motor where kinda outdated. so ofter some updates it was ready to go again. Joined the club again and now having fun again at the track..

Future plans:
Well here in Holland theres no real Truck class anymore theres just buggy and short course left. I think im gone join the buggy 2wd class and yes i want to join it with an XX
So at the moment searching the bay etc for an XX roller to rebuild /build and get it ready to run/ race again. Dont aim to be champion think its just fun to be the guy with the 15 years old buggy between all the new 22's etc. In the mean time keep enjoing my truck at the track. So hope in the futere i can post my build tread of the XX here.

Added some picks of my truck below

Dont hang my for my spelling im Dutch :D

Welcome to a great board.

Nice story. I found my old racer from 88 and raced it again at vintage meets. It is something really self awarding running your old racer again with a really strong emotion behind it.

Is that a XX buggy shell to serve as dust cover under the truck body???

Cheers

Heya Mad racer

Yep thats an xx shell.

Think i got it from someone back then who was going to trow it away and made a dust cover from it with some velcro to attach it to the chassis.

Great story & nice XXT - so cool to still have your first R/C car/truck.

I have a XXT aswell - I love it, they make for such a fun 'runner' car.

I also have a XX buggy that i've been racing at local club meetings & been having lots of fun with it too - it can still mix it with the modern cars (although I do think that I am at a slight dissadvantage on high grip tracks being rear motored) I raced it on Saturday & managed to qualify 4th in the A final & ended up 5th. The main thing is that they drive so nicely! 8)

P.S; Interesting front tyres, not seen those before?

Thnx for the comments guys

Yeah im realy glad that i didnt sell it back then. Its so much fun seeing it still run on the track. and now with even more emotions then back then.

and DerbyDan like your story
Thats what i was thinking too seeing how my truck still handels and outruns the modern 2wd SCT's i really think the XX buggy can be competitive. We have an outdoor clay track and here in holland it rains alot so its always a low bite track with a lot of loose soil etc so no mid motors at our track..

The front tires are Proline Blades there almost the same as the Losi razor Pins i think they are the same age as the truck :D

Left Blades Right Razor Pin.

Brilliant idea with the xx shell dust cover. Absolutely love the front tires too. How do they turn?

Ouch.. My tranny case has stopped breathing :(

I think 99% from all the parts of the XXT are still out there but the tranny case comes in the 1% group..

My tranny case is cracked where the two bottom rear screws are... yeah, it's expensive to replace that part.

Yeah now i learned the hard way where the blue Trinity ears are for :D

I kinda managed to fix it with some alloy but its also cracked at the bottom and even the side shows a little crack.
So a new one would be really nice Jamin.

Ok I'll take a look, I definitely have 1 NIP, but it might be for my Kinwald build, will let you know.

Edit: Sorry the one I have is for my build, sorry, I thought it was a spare.
