Disassemble begins!

So the rebuild begins! I have decided to keep as much as possible stock but build a true back yard basher. The tub is pretty scuffed up and a few extra holes added but I am happy just to have this piece of my childhood with me still. When I found her she had RPM ball cups and some sort of turnbuckles but other wise stock. The white idlers where chewed up and I have replaced them with black idlers and ball bearings in the tranny. I have since sourced cv rear axles as I remember the dogbones giving me tremendous greif. I have a Losi "revolution" stock motor but I am on the lookout for a mild Reedy brushed motor. Using this set-up is completely dependent on the Futaba MC112 ESC I found with her working- otherwise I am going to use a novak brushless set-up- probably the 25.5 VTA spec package. Also still need steering servo mounting blocks. I have 1 battery cup but the holes to mount it in a north-south orientation don't seem to line up- and they are not countersunk on the bottom of the pan. Undecided if I will try and find another cup and mount it east-west or not. In begining to clean I noticed that my nose plate is not the same color as the tub- it's much darker. The tub is stamped "A"- can anybody help me narrow down when this thing was manufactured?

Hi luckyracing, if you click here (http://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=13059) it will take you to a very informative page on the history of the rc10 buggy, you should/could be able to work out from there, the age of your car.
I love seeing photos of cars that have been stored away and then somebody picks it up and has the intention of restoring... I cant wait to see how your car progresses, good luck :-)
