I've been a long time fan of the Cougar2 buggy and have built and rebuilt more of these cars than any other. I'm always looking for nice add ons and don't mind modding some parts too.

Here's my current CGR2 collection which consists of both shelfer and track car for both the TEAM and WORKS spec.

They all run WORKS rear suspension, slippers, alloy roller driveshafts, 23mm Pro Diffs, ball raced steering and a few other bits and peices. My runners are sporting ceramic diff balls too. I've finaly had the time to rebuild and tidy them up just the way I like.

Thanks Mick. I've owned many incarnations of the Cougar and while I have sold one of my WORKS cars (had 3 at one point  ) and a handful of others I am glad to have these as part of my Schuey collection today.

While I am no longer intersted in racing I am commited to enjoying my runner TEAM and WORKS cars out in the park with my son when time permits.

With great thanks to the old RCCA article I was hooked on this model since it's release.

Jason, those cars have come up a treat!

I'm going to have to clean mine up now...

If I ever move back to the eastern states, we will have to team up for an Enduro.

Cheers

Kilroy

Thank you for the compliments guys. I'm a rattle can guy myself, all my paint schemes come out of a Tamiya spray can

I can't help loving the ano'd schuey stuff. :D

Brilliant work from rattle cans! I'm inspired to start painting some of my nekkid shells.
Great treat to see all those cars together too!

Thanks Gary. I find working with rattle cans quite easy, it's the masking out that is a real problem. The tape can lift, the paint bleeds through and then you've got a mess to deal with. Most times it's pure luck that some of my shells turn out as well as they do.
The trick with rattle cans I find is to pre heat them before use. I like to shake em up, stick em in a bucket/tub of hot water water then reshake before I spray. When I want a series of different colours to merge I just have them all ready and go from one to another all quickly. Usually the colours overlap and merge into one another. With a bit of practice you can get them almost seamless.

J.M's 3rd 'Works'

I love your paint schemes... think I prefer the grey version on your works cars compared to the one on mine.... but still very nice 8)

I don't think that Jason would mind me saying that the scheme on my car (same as the two Works cars & the far r/h 'team' in JM's photos) is easier to achieve than perhaps it first looks.... I would pre-cut my thin strips of masking tape & apply them on the shell following the design, then its a case of in-filling the larger faded areas with mask then paint the remaining clear main area with the darkest colour. Remove the infill mask & spray the two tone fade (the beauty of Jason's colour scheme is that the fades are generally on the flat faces so you don't get that horrible uneven fade line where the spray swirls around) Then remove the trim line & spray on the white, et Voila!

I've been gradually collecting a few parts to turn my 'Works' from very nice to really nice!! Would like to find somewhere to get my chassis re-anno'd too

Thanks for posting that car up here Dan. It's funny but I have a hard time remembering who buys the majority of my cars, they tend to end up all over the place.
Whilst the car you bought from me was not mint it was (and still is) a nice car. Too good for me to run when compared to the well used 'runner' I currently have, hence why I was happy to be left with two and sell that one on.

Every paint scheme is a learning process for me and some times they come off great and sometimes they are just passable. I wanted to experiment a little and thats how yours came about.

I'm glad this car ended up in someone's hands (yours  ) that really appreciates it for what it is (and was back in the day).

Ahhh - like you ever since the Cougar 2 review appeared in the UK mag Radio Race Car I was in love.... I already owned a Cougar1 but it seemed that every single part on the CougarII had been refined, I can remember reading & studying that article over & over :D

I've owned your old 'Works' for a few years now - i've not done too much with it, a year or so ago I picked it off the shelf to realise that it had leaked the contents of its front shocks, so I gave the car a quick going over, re-built the shocks, replaced the front bulkhead & replaced those black screws underneath with some genuine schumy ones
