Hey all,

Need some soldering station suggestions. I'm hoping to spend $100 or less. What do I need to look for in a a station? Features, wattage? There are a ton of them on eBay.

The Haako 960 is the gold standard for non digital stations, there is a "faakeo" 960 Chinese knock off that's about $60 less

I've been using the new Hakko 960 for years...wouldn't consider anything else, except maybe the newer Hakko FX-888

I use a cheap 2 in 1 iron and rework combo. The hot air nozzle works awesome for heat shrink AND you can fix your PS3 when it breaks

i use a weller WTCPT soldering station, freebe from work, works great.

Been very happy with my weller 101 for about 10 years now, from when I was building SC packs... 100W, regulated, although you can't pick the temp yourself tho, but the weller folks have chosen the right one it seems.

I have an old hakko 926, still running strong. Goot are also very good

Hakko 926 ESD here for me, had it a few years now.

Well worth it, and it never fails me. Check some of your local used goods stores/Pawn shop type places.
