From this poorly written and poorly pictures listing it appears I got a pretty decent mid! Chassis and tires are not bad at all! Gear mesh was very tight, after loosening it up the drive train is very free and smooth. Looks to have been run very little. Next step....find a screw set and start cleaning!

These are the pics from the listing....

Wow, that's a whole lot nicer than the basket-case I have sitting in storage. But then, I like a challenge... good find!

Wow great score!
Where are people finding vintage RC stuff from other than eBay?

It looks like in the pics the tyres were glued on, I had the same situation with my Lazer ZX, the wheels and tyres were in great condition but the tyres were glued on, I managed to get the tyres off and clean the wheels up to near mint but there are still bits of glue on the tyres and some cracks and small pieces that came off. They don't look as bad mounted on rims but its a damn shame to see a great pair of OT-66 and W-5033 get wasted like that, are there any tricks to getting the rest of the glue off the tyres, I was told Acetone but from a small test it seems the rubber breaks down unlike the wheels where it worked like a treat

Gotta love the plastic wheel nuts and that old school mechanical speed controller just looks plain scary!

The tires appear to have been glued, but are no longer. I have heard boiling works well but I have not tried. Most of the glue is peeling off for me, so I'm gonna keep going with that method for now!

I'm really wanting to order a bearing kit but its in such great shape and the wheels aren't wobbly (I'm not running it) I'm really tempted to leave it alone!

It was off eBay BTW. I just got lucky:-) only a couple other bidders

I'm pretty sure that's a builder fail, not a Kyosho fail. Original wheel nuts are your everyday average 4mm nylon lock-nuts.

The nuts that hold the shocks on are meant to be plastic however, can't tell if they are on yours or not

I have a soft spot for the Mid because I always wanted one and the Turbo Optima Mid SE was both the first brand new buggy I owned and the last buggy I owned.

Fast forward 20+ years and I'm building an SE close to what mine was with bits I wanted for it but couldn't afford at the time

Along with two other LWB Mids, and Lazer and .....
