Strange trip to work this morning

I had the weirdest morning. I was coming to work and my office is close to several doctors offices and the 2 main hospitals in this area. We are not far from Duke by air so there is also a lot of work going on with them. So it is not uncommon to see a couple rescue trucks or ambulances every day come in and out of the area.

Well I was a few blocks from my office this morning and nearing a red light. As my light turned green, there was an ambulance cut onto the road trying to beat the red light. I am a safe driver so I just applied the brakes and let the ambulance through. It was not running lights or anything.

When the truck whipped into my lane, one of the rear doors flew open and a box rolled out onto the street. They were none the wiser and just kept rolling. I flashed my lights but they did not notice before the back door slammed shut. So I pulled over and got the box out of the road. It was 8 inches square and made of aluminum so I am thinking mini-btx project or something. It was very cold so I opened it to check it out. It was like a horor show, a fog raised out of the box and I could not see anything. But I knew there was something there and did not know if I wanted to see it or not.

As the fog cleared from the box, I noticed something in the bottom of the box. It was getting clearer and clearer as the fog thinned. Then it was there, plain as the nose on my face. It was a severed toe laying in some dry ice.

Strangest thing I ever saw laying in the middle of the road.

I guess the question needs to be asked, did you return the toe or what is the link to the ebay auction

To me, humor has no boundaries. If it takes me 2 days to tell a joke, as long as one person laughs, I'm good. Carson said that was what he liked about me the most.

It could have been worse, he could have been making a PBJ sandwich and found the digit in the jam!  :P

I have not seen that movie yet, but I hear it is a great one.

Nothing wrong with a little "Toe" jam on your PBJ.

You ever watch "American Inventor", the spin off of Idol? There was an old guy who'd come up with a toe shaped jelly jar for kids and was calling it "toe jam". He was shot out of the water immediately by the panel and got pissed off at the rejection.

I have seen commercials but never watched an episode. How far did he think he was going to get with a toe shaped jar

An invention would have been something to clean the toe jam from your feet without having to reach or a machine that replicates jelly from toe jam. He just made pottery.

I don't do well with the scripted drama of these so called reality shows, so I don't watch them. I have seen a few snippets here and there of this one though while flipping through the channels or waiting for commercials to be over on the other channel I'm watching.

Another good one was a frisbee with a rope attached to it. It was being marketed as a rescue device for drowning victims. The theory was that the rescuer hangs onto the rope with one hand and tosses the frisbee to the victim to haul them to shore. When he got the boot he got really pissy and had the balls to complain that "people were going to die needlessly because the panel couldn't see the value of his device".

Maybe I need to check that show out. I can't do the reality shows. But that one sounds a bit humorous. I think I will watch the new one coming on, American Band or something like that. It is (of course) from the producers of American Idol but they are looking for the next big band (but not "Big Band"). I might get into that fit they rock.

Probably won't be much better than the typical tone deaf folks on Idol. I mean really, why the heck was William Hung even let in the door, let alone on stage? Who is screening these folks?
