Got some Crusher parts from Germany today, and upon removing the body from the box I noticed it was quite heavy. Someone made a fiberglass body and did an amazing job. From the outside you can’t tell at all

I spend part of the week-end at my borther's place. He has some specific tooling and I brought some stuff to do with him, and we took pleasure doing this stuff together (and that will help few of my projects). When we finished, he told me that he has a onroad chassis somewhere I could give a second life, and he sent his son fetch a box in the attic...
My nephew gave me 2 boxes : one with 2 bodyshells inside and one smaller box with the chassis inside.

I started to inspect the body shell first : unpainted, one is trimmed and the other one not. And there is the original stickers with them.
Then the chassis : the suspension arms looks familiar for me, as I modeled some exactly like those for a guy at the club. Same shape, but size is different than the Kyosho GP Landmax arms I modeled... Weird. I'll have to look further. The brand on the box was not familiar for me, but the chassis reminded me something...

When arrived at home, I did further search. This chassis was marketed in France under two brands : MFI and Yankee. The car is a Shaft 1/10 (it was the same car name for the two brands, and it cames with various bodyshells). The front and rear cells are identical, and could even be doubled : you could build a 6x6 or 8x8 or NxN with those, and build it 4WDS as well, this is interesting... Upon further search, the car's manufacturer is Great Vigor, well known for some Optima's total copy paste with the Beagle (which may explain why the arms looks like Kyosho GP Landmax arms).

The GP engine has been rebuilt by my nephew (he is an apprentice in automotive mechanics, and he loves doing that, but don't run rc cars anymore): he told me you would be able to run it as long as you succeed to set it right.

At the end I'm not sure if I'll run this car GP or Converted EP. I'll keep the Clio Williams bodyshell, and the Peugeot 306 Maxi will find a new home (I have a friend searching for this exact bodyshell for quite a long, and I tried myself to help him... If only I knew the treasure was in my brother's attic :-) ).

In short, this will allow to help a friend and this is one addition to my own projects list...
Some of the bodyshells from that manufacturer are straight copies of Kyosho GP-10/Scale Car bodies (or maybe GV was the OEM for the Kyosho shells). Not the Clio and 306 shells, though.

You might be able to find reviews of the car(s) in Buggy Magazine or Auto RCM from back in the day (a certain French forum has scans from various issues).

The 306 shell is a MRC shell (the french Model Racing Car - from what I can see on the sticker sheet).
And for GV, I don't think they were OEM for Kyosho, and they are known to stop the commercialisation of the Beagle when Kyosho put assigned them in court for copying the Optima... The shells were likely pure copies...
I buy kits to build and ru(i)n them :-)

I am always happy when I find an RC10 for what I believe it is actually worth, instead of the ludicrous prices that are all over the place. I think the CRP bumpers are a nice addition, and I am pretty sure I have a chassis sitting around that will be a great fit for the trailing arms.

Very cool. Lmk if you need the proper tower and shock mounts. The instructions for modifying the tub are on my website or you can bolt them to a graphite chassis as well. http://www.factoryworks.com/FactoryWorks/RC10C1.htm

Jeff, I was literally going to email you with "send me a parts list of everything I need to make these fit to graphite chassis." Up until this point, all pics I have seen of A&L arms were on flat graphite or f'glass chassis. I didn't know mounting them to aluminum tubs was an easy option! But with knowing that, I feel like these arms should stick with this tub (sentimental like that). I will now send you an email slightly altered.

Got this RC10GT slider, with the intention of building a EGT. After getting it, I realize why it was so cheap.

Maybe it was a channel color sticker, and faded over time? https://www.teamtekin.com/manuals/terx_am.pdf

Got this brand spanking new Novak Havoc Pro brushless system in the mail today. 17.5 motor version, still shrink-wrapped, with the original price and all. I paid a little bit less than sticker price ;)

Would have had it last Friday, if it wasn't for a mistake by the seller, compounded by Australia Post

Still, it arrived, so I'm happy! Now, though, got to work out whether to open it or not :P :D
