Ultima Pro ready for Boondal.

Well since i'm waiting on parts for my Mid & others I decided to finish my Ultima Pro.

A set of CRP front axles to accept Tamiya wheels have added along with a set of Yokomo adaptors at the rear. I found a set of Tamiya spoke wheels that compliment the rear J.C 5 spoke wheels. I quickly dyed the wheels too match up in color. Added a few stickers that were missing to make it almost box art. Li po saddle packs fitted with the original 14X2 mega motor.

Seems to be going really well & will give it a run at Boondal next.

I don't think I 've ever seen those front wheels. Real good of you finding something distinctive AND matching

That looks fantastic. Great work with the wheels/tires. I'd love to see some race pics if you are able.

Thanks guys.

I ran it at Boondal on Sat & it went really well.

I installed a old school Novak GTX esc & a Trinty 15T Quad Speed Gems 2 motor. It was very quick & felt better then my original Ultima with Turbo towers & golds.

Got this pic.

Nice Ultima pro :)

Is there anyway that the modern wheels can be used to this car?

Sure, at least with regards to the rear wheels, most 2.2" modern wheels with 12mm hex should work. Look for wheels between 35 and 40 mm wide and you'll want tires from about 80-ish to 90-ish millimeters in diameter.

Short answer, it's not difficult, and can be done.

Throw RB5 hub carriers and steering blocks and axles up front, and you can do 12mm hex fronts from the rb5, and many other 12mm fronts. You could also do CRP axles to put Tamiya bearings and wheels. Then use TRF201/DN01 Wheels. You could ALSO switch the carriers/hubs/axles to something with std measurements i.e. B4 or RC10 and use those wheels. You may still want wide front arms, or you can make up some of the width loss with the different carriers or extended axles.

I used the wide Andy's Ultima arms to get Ultima RB5 front wheels to work. They pop up on ebay here and there.

If you use jr-x2 axles, steeringknuckle, C-carrier and hinge pins you can use B3 (b4?) rims up front.
(You just need to ream the holes for the hngepins up from 3 to 3.2mm. everything else drops in perfect)
