RC10B4.1 4.2 Factory Team Worlds Kit

I got two of these kits when they just came out, one as a runner and one for the shelf. Sadly had to retire the original B4 with all the FT options. I put all new parts on it and now it is a new shelf queen. I'm really looking forward to driving Associated new car, so lets begin.

The box is the same as the B4.1FT but has a Worlds label added to the top right hand corner.

Front end is done, not much to it but disappointed that they don't use any carbon composite parts at all on this "FT" car!

The only thing that would be good about the RTR is not having to blister your thumbs putting turnbuckles together huh Rod? I hear ya on the CF, but at least they didn't use a "cab forward" body...

I've had the itch to build a new kit lately myself. Been a good while since I opened a sealed box full of parts. I'm jealous!

I am looking forward to seeing this go together, Worth buying the kit then Rod?

I think it's the best 2wd buggy you can buy!

Associated buggies provide less steering, as I've learned. Nice to see the reuse of the worlds car though!!

I can understand the arms, but can I use any carbon parts and not lose traction? Like towers and top plate?

I have been eyeing these for a while now. Nice to watch the build, thanks for posting it. I have not built a 2wd Buggy kit in, well, 25 years? Hehe...

What is the main chassis made from? Since it's black, it's hard to see in the pics. Fiberglass-y plastic?

It's a composite but not carbon impregnated like the normal FT options! The carbon one would be lighter and stiffer!

Jeff will answer I'm sure, but I'm pretty sure they all lock the car up some. Per Jeff, when I narrowed the chassis and freed the parts up it became way more responsive.

In it's simplest form, flex = traction. You can use the carbon parts and save a little weight but you will be adding it right back in with sticky weights all over the place to get the car up to legal weight or to get it to handle right. The AE stuff is inexpensive enough that you could do your own experiment and run the car with all plastic parts then switch to the composite/carbon parts and see the difference. I will add that we just returned to the AE team and are working with Jason Ruona on getting our cars setup. I will be using a copy of his car as my starting point, which uses all plastic parts.
