pre stealth A stamp thickness?

quick question, just got my beater woin chassis, pretty scraped up but not asphalt clawed, and no extra holes...i almost feel bad for wanting to cut it up... almost...
anyways... just wondering if the chassis change thickness through the different gold models, the one i have is an A stamp with no stealth holes, were the nose plates always thicker than the main chassis? the truck nose is a bit thinner than the unknown gold front i have, which is from what could be a later model (its a lighter gold, the chassis is a deeper copper gold)
ill try to post some photos, but my camera is doa and the cell phone is poor at best but maybe one of the master historians can chime in without them....
