Where most guys are running the t/b4 input shaft and slipper with the 2.25 stealth, I want to go the other way. My shortcourse is getting an sc10 transmission but I really don't care for the slipper. I run mine pretty much locked anyway so that's not the issue. I have a full set of spur gears from 80-85 in one tooth increments and like to be able to fine tune the gearing in that way. 2 screws for the spur, readjust the motor and go. Anyway, from looking at pics it looks like the t3 slipper still uses the old style 2 screw spur gears but the input shaft has the two flat sides like the t4 input. Is that correct? Thanks

RC10, B2, T2, B3, and T3 all used the same top shaft. P|N ASC6571. Didn't have the flats on the shaft like the B4, T4, and SC10 did.

Go the other way and drop an original stealth topshaft into the sc10 tranny. Then you can use your slipper setup you want.

i'd install the 6571 topshaft with a slipper eliminator. then apply a sticker to the body that says..... slipper clutches are for pussies.

That was my original plan. Ordered a new 6571 input shaft with some other stuff from amain. Went to put it in today and realied it won't work. Instead of having both bearings right next to the gear like on the 2.25, the one on the spur gear side is spaced out 3/8 of an inch. With the 6571 shaft in the roll pin hole shares space with the bearing. What is the diameter of the t3 clutch? I mocked it up with the sc10 inner hub, 2.25 disk and outer hub and it looks like it might work but the inner hub is slightly smaller than the disk by 2mm or so.

the t3 inner clutch hub is basically the same as the one from the 2.25 stealth or b2. it's just a larger diameter. so you'll have the same issue with either one.

Sounds like the t3 slipper would have less contact then what I have now. This is the new slipper hum on the 10t slipper pad.

Are the spur gears you want to use the type that have holes for diff balls? If so you could try using Traxxas slipper pegs, in the diff holes, with the B4 slipper plates.

Well I came up with a solution. Not what I had in mind but it will work. Should have pics up before long

Wells here's the route I was stuck with. I have some 3/8 delrin to work with and plan to make a spacer to go between the gearbox and motorplate. All said and done it should be solid. Should.....

Started with a 3/8x1 inch block of delrin.



A few hours of mill time later I had a spacer.



And installed.



Still need to cut off the extra length of the screws and plug the old hole for the shaft.

So, eh.......why's the topshaft on the wrong side? I didn't notice any mention of mid motoring-

The trans is for my shortcourse. Plan A was just turn the whole trans around, select reverse rotation on the esc and install the old style input shaft. Found out the old input wouldn't work with the sc10 trans in normal configuration so plan B was v2 slipper and reverse. Talked with some guys and found out in order for the motor to run the same in reverse you have to mess with the timing on the motor to make up for it. I had assumed the esc did all that.. I really want to mess with it that much so plan C was to flip the input shaft on the trans and remount the motor plate. Worked out pretty good because now I can run the ols style spur gears like I wanted .
