I'm someone who always had an interest in RC but never got heavily into it other than buying a Hornet and goldpan back in 85-87. Bashed around the hornet a few times, never the goldpan other than a couple test runs. None of my friends were into rc so it just became a backburner thing. Long since gotten rid of the hornet (actually sold back then to help get money towards the goldpan). Finally pulled the goldpan from the closet after 20 years back in the spring with intentions of just cleaning it up and then came across this forum in doing some research on it. Well since I joined here I've got bitten by the bug like many of you. Still not much of a racer yet but enjoying the building process and learning the history. Needless to say my bank account is not a big fan of rc10talk.

I wanted to share my latest acquisition. Found it by searching for vintage rc car. I think it's an RC12e weightsaver from searching here so I hope I'm posting in the correct area. Not sure if everything is stock. The plastic with the antenna wire has Parma RALT on it. Not sure if that's what the body is or was just a random scrap piece the builder used.

What do you guys think of it?

Nice fine! The body looks like a schkee and could have came from a couple places. The Ferrari motor is cool too, you don't see many of them around anymore. They added a reverse switch. Also it's hard to tell, do you have a diff or live axle? A true weight saver should have a diff. Chassis and upper could have been added or be original

Really interesting car. I like the Parma Ferrari motor, actually the only Parma motor I always wanted but I still have none in my collection. Also the Futaba S20 mini servo for throttle and the steering servo what might be a S7 are nice and rare.

Body indeed is a Schkee, the CAM2 sticker at the wing actually is coming from 1/8 gas car.
Regarding the chassis I´m not sure, is this one or the keyhole chassis the weightsaver?
For the rear axle it seems to me there is a hexagon near the spur gear so it might be a Schumacher diff.
The narrow front wheels, are these cut down stock wheels or different brand? Can´t see this at the pictures.

Diff is not from associated. Front wheels are very interesting the battery looks like the Jerome/jomac dipped battery pack. Again, very cool stuff!

I think those cut down front wheels were popular back in the day as I have several of them.
