This overspray wrap stuff is pretty cool! Last body I painted was waaaaay back in the day. That's why most of my stuff is sitting here on the shelf clear. Figured I'd give it a shot, came out ok. The tamiya tape works great! I do cheat and use a heat gun on the body (and the paint can....carefully!) to help the drying time. Anyway, here is the repro Jag body from team blue groove

Looks great! 8) 3M makes a fine line pinstriping tape for automotive use that works really well and is cheap. I don't have a link, but scr8p might. He's the one that recommended it. It's really handy for making curves and makes extremely clean lines. I was using Parma which works great, but cost about 10x what this stuff does. If you go into an automotive paint supply store and ask for 3M fine line tape they should have it. It's blue and comes in a variety of widths.

That turned out sweet! 8) That body looks perfect on the 12i. I'll have to pick that one up.

I was pondering an upcoming paintjob and just remembered this thread. Here's the tape I mentioned above that scr8p brought to my attention. It comes in a variety of widths and is probably considerably less than Tamiya (or at least I know it was a lot less than the Parma I was using). I think I paid about 1/2 this at a local automotive paint supply store, but this will at least show you what it is. Great product.

Yup, I've used the blue stuff before. I never cared for it but it was probably more my lack of proper preparation. I would always get seepage (gigity)
Now I actually wash the body down and seal the edges real tight. I also use a heat gun to cure the paint faster (probably not recommended) and peel the tape up when the paint is mostly cured.

If anything I tend to put the paint on too thick and it ends up being gummy at the edge. I have a very heavy hand which is why I'm not much of an artist. :(
