My first 1/12 car

It is not vintage, but I have always been interested in running a 1/12 car. One of the things that really appealed to me back then was the time you could spend on the track. When I raced back in the day a 3 minute race was the max, so the thought of running 6-8 minutes was exiting.
Thought about getting a vintage on-raod, but Santa brought me a RC12R5.1
The local track runs a 17.5 class and it is starting to gain some more support.
The rest of my parts are in the mail and i hope to hit the track with it in the next couple weeks.

Plan on keeping it for a long time, but I also want to get out on the track with it.
My local track has both indoor offroad and onroad, but they heat the onraod area. Another good reason for this onraod

Ordered a Novak club system brushless system for 124$ ESC and motor. Should have all the parts Monday. Then it is time to paint and final assembly.

Received the Novak Club 17.5 system last night. Very small esc which is perfect for 1/12, but no additional tuning is available like Novak's other systems.
Being used to 2S and 6 cell Nimh the 1S battery is tiny!! Also leaving it in the car is strange for me, but I am sure I will get used to it.
Already took it for a small trip around the living room. Handles great
Now I just need to clean up the wires and paint the body.

My first time out went really well today. Very happy with the Novak club system and can't wait to see how well I stack up against the competition.

Thanks.
The best part about the carpet track where I race is they have heat.
The offroad track does not ...

That's awesome! How do you like the handling of the car? Once I get some experience on the track with my vintage cars I'll probably move up to a modern machine like that.
