Thanks for the help of my servo mount questions. I now have another in what I thought should have been an easy find, but found out it may be harder than I thought. Any body Know were to pick up the gold #6280 screws with a little raised dot, need them to finish a few of my resto's. They only come smooth now, looked everywhere. Was even forced once to buy rear sup. kits just to get a couple,not cheep. Marlo

Those are quite common, however the color itself varies which might bother you depending on your pickyness

I've seen, even bought a few packs. The new screws do not have that little raised dot on the head, as for color, I can let that go. Want it to be the way it came from factory.

I suppose you could troll the bay for a while and look for packs with the older header card? That still won't guarantee you'll get those exact screws you're referring to though.

Maybe you could post a picture of the screw you are trying to find. I have a package #6241 front end screw set and the header card is old Cadillac, I don't see any raised dot on any of these. There might have been some used at some point in production but usually it was the color that was the difference in early or later production runs.

The tide is out on the bay.I have had to buy once a vintage white rear rebuild kit for 10t, they all had them, but now I'm stuck with all the nylon parts, I still sleep better at night, Knowing that the parts are collecting dust.I found a dealer once but he would not ship to Canada.

And even if you find a few of them you will still need to find two long one's for the steering. Do yourself a favor and try to find a nice matching set of light gold screws - that is much more important to me than using newer green screws

THATS THEM!!!! . Picky yes with pride, that's what separates the best from the truly best . As for the long ones used on the 10t they (I don't think had them).

Ok, guess I assumed you were working on an early RC10 buggy.

Finishing of a late ce 6 gear nib, but some parts were installed (stripped out screws, not by me ). Kit did not come with all the screws like that. It was a mix of older, and mid, of the type. Also a ce stealth, need a full set for that one . One or two for others.

Good eye on the screws. Never noticed myself. Going threw the NIB Kits I have . The T10 and 2 have them along with both the CE six and stealth.The long screws on the CE are flat .

My early edinger doesn't use them, nor does my 6gear CE- looks like another case of AE using what they had from what supplier at the time

this reminds me of the paint markers on auto restorations. Bob, Jim, maybe Jonesy had a marker they used on the assembly line possibly one day, or twice, or picked it up at the local hardware store and used it to help keep track of stuff they tightened. Now collectors pay a premium and restorers meticulously restore a chalk mark made by a half drunk guy 30 yrs ago.

My next question, was going to be about the long screws, guess they didn't make them that way. So you have a 6 gear ce without the dot screws? And yes I also do restore Auto's on the side, That's were I became the way I am. I did a 1965 mustang coupe, It was a full resto, I now all about the wax inspection markings, those are the little things ( to me anyway) that make all the difference in the world. . Marlo

How do I get approved for the bst market ? I see that all the time, not sure what that means.
