Re: Dirt Oval tub car
That's what I was wondering. Didn't want it to look like a high rider 4x4! Guess I won't really know until it's trimmed and mounted. How will mounting the front shocks in more of a laydown position affect the overall handling if need be?

Re: Dirt Oval tub car
Any input on who might be able to paint up my CW body similar to this? Someone to re-create the decals mostly.

Re: Dirt Oval tub car
There is a member named Ultrahive that did decals. It seemed like he could do about anything. I haven't seen him here in a while, but he has a site too. Good luck.

Re: Dirt Oval tub car
I think I found someone to re-create the graphics into decals. Fingers crossed.
That pic above is actually a mid motor car that ran only a handful of times. I spent quite a bit of time whenever I could as a kid hanging at my uncles shop. He had Bullitt Chassis for all of the 80's and into the early 90's. Still not much better racing than on a nice dirt oval.

Decals in the works which will be a tiny miracle to recreate these.
Bought this awhile back from imr dirt modeler. Not the mid engine, but pretty cool micro model.

Re: Dirt Oval tub car
Not sure about a ground effects car but looking at the pics of the cab forward I'd say so
he pretty much created the "wedge" styling in '82

Re: Dirt Oval tub car
Actually Ray built all of those cars, with Charlies very vocal input of course.
He was one hell of a driver. Ray and Brett(the son) were some creative and particular guys. You could eat off the shop floor at any given time... wonder where I get my OCD...

Re: Dirt Oval tub car
Go get yourself some poster board and start cutting and bending. Its really not that hard. Get the pieces made, taped together and mounted on the chassis. If you're happy with it, transfer those patterns on to lexan.

Re: Dirt Oval tub car
Someone made a 1/10 or 1/8 scale replica of that car because I found it while searching Google a few months ago. I'll try to find it again.
Those Mud Flea cars are amazing! They're brass, right? I wanted a few of them when they were first released but never had the cash. Here's one from their FB page:

Re: Dirt Oval tub car
LTO, yes they are brass. Very neat being so small.
I've seen that post at DO and have tried to contact that guy a couple of times just inquiring about those bodies and graphics. Never had a reply. One member said he was active on FB in the RC dirt oval scene. I don't do FB, so never had a chance to contact him.
