Project Circle Track...Part Deux

Well, I finally got settled and set up with my dirt track bomber (see buggy forum)....Now there's a new class forming up at my local track. They're using 4WD tc chassis, 10.5 motors and Nascar truck bodies. The dirt track is gonna be fun!
Here's the start. Basically a stock TC4 with short top load shocks. I backed out the droop screws and used slightly longer ball cups on the bottom mounts, and the thing has almost as much travel as my bomber. The motor (Turnigy 10.5) and ESC are in the mail from Hobby King (which happens to be the WORST when it comes to shipping, but the prices are great.)
The body is a Mcallister Toyota Nastruck, painted like my bomber. I'm sure tires will be the next item to work on. Right now, nobody at the track knows what to use on these, so we're all starting from scratch.
Updates as they happen.

Nice! 8) I really like the Charger buggy build. I've got that one book marked along with a ferw others as I want to do the same thing with an old gold pan I have.

That truck body fits on there nicely. That will be a screaming class. 8)

Thanks. If you read through that build, you can see there was a lot of experimentation...the final setup works well on our track.

Before I started this project, I took it out to the track just to see how it would do when I still had a brushed 15t motor, and just the neutral street setup. It actually handled better than I thought it would. With what I learned in the bombers, it just needs a little shock tweaking....and most likely, tires.

Last night was the debut of the supertruck class on the dirt oval. No one knew what to expect, and we were trying all different setups. The first qualifier had us all sliding around, but I managed to pull out with it. One of the other racers was using foams, and started hooking up after some rubber was being put down. After trying a setup that didn't work for round 2 (dead last), I decided to strap on some Jaco foams.... The thing was on a rail for the 3rd qualifier and the Main....just a very controllable drift, and plenty of speed with the cheap Turnigy 10.5 motor. This thing was MUCH easier to set up than my bomber (it's still a work in progress).

Here's the battle damage:

Thanks Chris. Next race day for me will be Saturday, April 6th at 5 PM.
Last Saturday, I was the only bomber (just raced the truck). I think the weather kept most people away...we had a lot of rain the night before, and it looked bad most of Sat, but turned out nice.
