Another new guy, another new/old buggy...

Hello everyone, another new guy here. About a 2 months ago I bought 2 rc10 goldpan buggies and started tearing into them to mix and match to build one pretty nice runner…then I found this place…after changing my mind a dozen times, I’ve finally committed to what I wanted it to look like and what stuff was going in it. I’ve ordered almost everything I need and will list a good part of it below. Pics will follow as it starts coming together. I ended up dying all the white parts and the color scheme is going to be gold adonized, green, and black. Here is some of what I’ve ordered so far. Forgive me if I don’t have all the lingo and names exactly right:
Leopard 60A speedo
Traxxas Bandit Anaconda wheels and tires
RPM Battery strap, front bumper, and dust/gear cover
Savox sc-1251 servo
Sky lipo battery
Castle 1406 series motor
Some 4-40 adonized nuts
There are some other things, but you get an idea from this. Pics coming as soon as it all shows up and it starts coming together. The good part is by having to get a couple of them to make one I have enough spare parts to make a whole other buggy. I thing that once I’m approved to B/S/T I’m going to post pics of all the spares I have and trade someone on here for things I’m totally horrible at. Like a body cut and painted for me…I absolutely can’t do that well and from what I’ve seen there is some amazing workmanship on this site and these veterans. Glad to finally be able to chat with you guys. Oh, I don’t race at all so any/all cars I have will be running on smooth asphalt lots with a couple buddies I have that did this stuff with me when we were kids. They keep buying the new plastic cars and don’t have an appreciation for vintage…yet…until mine lights them up anyway…maybe.

Welcome! I'm curious about the Traxxas wheels, did you get them to fit the RC10 axles? Pics would be great.

Thanks for the welcomes. Yes I got them to fit, I had to drill out the rears a bit. I'm not too impressed with them though. They have a cheap feel and no bearings. I may get the aluminum jellybeans if the buggy ends up being worth a dang. my workmanship is nowhere the level it needs to be to be proud of the car. I'm sure I'm not the only person that would love to own one of the shelf queens built by scr8p. does he ever let any of them go that you guys know of? They look so clean and professional...priceless...at least to a guy like me that appreciates the vintage stuff and that level of workmanship.
Sorry for the low quality pics, I've misplaced the data cable to my camera.....ok this isn't working. I'll post a couple pics on Monday from my office along with progress of the project.

The file size is probably to large.

Is 1.66mb too large? that was the average size of the pics I intended to post. I really want to get them posted so people can tell me what I should do different.

they must be too big. Once the screen refreshes they are just gone like I didn't place one there before I clicked "add the file".
scr8p,
from the pics of the ones I've seen, the gold buggies with white parts and dremeled edges look pretty awesome. Shelf quality, real beauties. Those would be ones I'd deffinately purchase...and if they had a vintage themed painted body...I would'nt be able to help myself from trying to pry it from your collection...

Now a question...I see several posts about using more modern real axles and such for use of more modern wheels and tires...can I use Traxxas 12mm Hex Wheel Hubs and modern wheels and tires? It seems like a too good to be true and too cheap and fast of a fix to work, but from just looking at pics it looks like if you put those in modern wheels then they would slip right over my vintage hinge pin...

Or the pro line 12mm hex adapters for SC10? any help would be greatly appreciated...I really dont want to do different axles.

I do have a question still though, are the front a arms stock that I have? they seem to have a different feel and material than others I have...
