Losi and Kyosho have both returned to aluminum as the material of choice for their latest buggies' chassis. Any guesses on how long it takes for Associated to follow suit?

Historically....don't hold your breath
They don't tend to follow close behind, rather stop at every rest stop along the way

+1 on the old aluminum. I say ditch that ugly blue, and bring back the gold while they're at it! :!: 8)

I'll give them two years. I'm guessing they'll wait to see if the mid-motor option becomes popular. If it does, then I bet they'll jump on board.

But, it's nice to see manufacturers making the return to aluminum.

hope never.. b4 t4 and sc10s are the best bashers/racers i ever had..plus im a big fan of the non oil filled gear diff.something rc10s never had before . so i feel like they just got everything the way i like it so i hope they keep it that way .. the one thing i wish they did was offer a mid motor kit. id like to see a kit that uses a new chassis with 95% of the stock parts that come with the car

crazy i was making my post for the mid motor and walked away for a few min. when i went to post it they showed me you posted this a few min ago.. im a big fan of the mid motor for bashing. the only thing is i need to be able to run 6cell nimh packs.i dont think you can with buggies mid motor but im not sure. most people at track that run the mid motor buggy set up use small lipos.

I'm working on a project that'll be mid-motor and use an everyday average 6-cell pack...I must be getting ahead of myself! Check out my OptiMutt project linked in my sig. :)

I love aluminium chassis as they are so tough. You can crash a car with an alloy chassis and fix it very easily. With carbon, plastic or graphite they just snap. I also love the way you can buff out minor marks, or re-anodise alloy to make it look likenew again. I do not care about the weight. Metal will always be my favorite chassis material.
