Nice couple of cars there you have sir.
Youve always gotta have a cardboard box full of goodies, its essential:)

Thank you.
I used to have many more..... including a JRX-2 NIP build, JRX-2 (old parts), XXX-BK, XX-CR, XX resto, RC10B4.....but I sold them all on eBay a while back and have been kicking myself ever since...
...not this time though!

Your original Losi looks to be in great condition - you must have done a great job in building that Hydradrive - as I can remember mine being very 'leaky' even after just being built in the mid-90s! I have one ooozing away in a box of Losi parts - i'll have to get a re-build kit for it and see if with older & more experienced eyes I can build a reliable, leak-free unit.
Max kudos for building a new car from collecting all the individual parts - its one thing to find all those obvious parts - chassis, wheels, bodyshell, arms & shock mounts etc etc but its all those small fixings & less obvious parts that you have to hunt down & find before any progress can be made on actually building the car!

Yes....it was well looked after during my racing days. As far as the HD goes -and I have built one up recently - I can recommend taking the two halves of the housing and then rubbing the half without the tabs on some emery paper taped down to a flat surface. Just rub gently, and don't push too hard, in a figure-of-eight pattern until you have smoothed out the surface that mates with the other half.
The half that has the locating tabs is trickyer to do as you have to do it manually, just go easy and try and remove any high-spots. This process seems to have worked for me.
Give it go and let me know if you are able to achieve similar results.

It has been, and still is, an interesting excercise trawling the web in search of parts and I've had to test my sanity at times when I think of how much it has cost. When you add up the value of the parts, the shipping, handling fees and the dreaded VAT on imports.....actually I don't want to know how much it's cost.....

What a nice car! The "old girl" knows how to dissimulate her age
