Hello guys, as much as I like my growing RC10 collection ( I now have 4 ) I am realy a huge Schumacher fan as a few of you may already know. Just thought I'd share with you my Topcat which is just about ready for a 2 hour vintage enduro that im set to travel to Melbourne for next weekend. Im meeting up with a few friends at the Knox club and Im teaming up with good mate Darryn Johnson ( retro r/c ) who is rumoured to be running a JRX PRO which I wont hold against him- . Im realy looking forward to the event and I think my Topcat is just about as good as I'll ever get it to run. Im running a Cougar2 -WORKS- rear end and transmission along with alloy roller drive shafts and Cougar2 rear bulk head. Its almost cheating I know but I think she'll scrape through ok. This would have to be about the 7th Topcat body Ive painted now (thanks to good friend ANT who repro's them ) and its possibly my favourite scheme. That TopCat rocks, I just love them. Had one as a kid and own a stock one now. The clear body for it also comes from your friend who repos them, nice job for sure. Could we have inside pictures of it and is the driver you installed the same as the original one? Good luck racing against Darryn

Hey Im glad you like it. The driver is from my Nikko Super Sprint kit which I converted into the BRAT up works car. Last vintage meet I had a micro servo hoked up to turn his head as the steering servo turned the wheels.Its cool fun to watch it drive around the track.Im not competing against Darryn,we are both on the same team. I forgot to mention each team consists of 2 drivers and max of 2 cars. One of us drive while the other marshalls. Im not sure how the change comes about between drivers as yet. Its going to be a hoot. I'll have to get inside pics tomorow. Thanks-Jason.

That moving head really does the trick. What were your feelings about the car handling? Broken/fragile parts and weak points? Do the parts from the Cougar really improve the car?

The driver figure just adds so much more realism and enhances the cool factor when his head turns with the wheels. I did the same thing with an old Wild One many years ago. It was cool then and just as cool now. As for the Cougar2 parts,the rear bulk head gives you more camber link locations and all the Cougar2 molded parts are from a far superior grade of plastic. Touch wood i havent done much damage to this car,I just like the works rear suspension hands down over the original. As for the transmission,Im still running the alloy super hex type diff but prefer the works side plates and lexan gear cover. The gear cover stops a hole lot more debris getting to the spur and pinion too ( i silicone the gear cover back peice to the motor plate for a good seal). The Topcat never came with a slipper which you definately need here on Australia's dry and dusty tracks. I found the car to have a little too much push last time I raced it even with the steering mod kit so this time I have 3 different sets of front tyres with ribs or spikes to help the front end. The car actually drives sweet and my good friend ANT has had some success with the car I built him which he runs all the time at club level. To be honest Im a bit of a flat out speed freak (Darryn will confirm this- he he) and this is the first sealed can motor Ive run in the last 15 years. Im sure this will make the car very manageable when I get to the track.Im used to running 11 and 12 turn motors in this car.

I'd love to have one of those. I think I found a clear body for that buggy. Just have to double check my source. All that would be left is finding a car to put it on.
