My runner, coming along...snails pace...

I'm waiting for wheels, shock towers, and some other hardware. Once I quit changing my mind, stop ordering parts, and finish what I have...then maybe someday when I get BST, I'll try to talk one of you talented guys into trading me something for a well cut and painted body/B4 wing...only reason I put pic of older electronics on here is because they all work and I don't want them. I'm sure once I get BST, someone who appreciates them will give them a good home. I have other stuff I will trade when it's time, just have a pic of this on my computer.
Last night I ran this girl in the street and yard. I'm way too novice a driver for the power it has. I rolled it about 5 times...thats why it's a runner I guess.

Looks good! I would suggest adding front and rear sway bars, that will help keep the car right side up.

Cool setup. Whats the battery your using? 6 gear transmission? what pinion and spur are you using?

RC10:
I've seen the swaybars and wondered how much they helped handling, is it really noticeable? Thank you...
myford:
it's a 2 cell lipo called sky lipo. 6 gear tranny for now but I have another nice chassis with a stealth on it that I will be moving everything over to when I get the rest of my parts and hardware. I'm very ignorant about gearing. I think it's just the OEM spur and pinion that came with the kit. Other than asking a buddy that's in the know, and him telling me that it's geared appropriately, I haven't messed with it. I have run a couple packs through it and checked to see if it were getting too hot and it wasn't hot at all. Thanks...

Thanks for the info. I would like to keep my set more or less stock as far as the arrangement of electrical components. but have had trouble finding the right sized lipo. Your setup looks nice and tidy. How did you happen on the right sized selection of your battery? Also what are you using for a charger?

myford,
well, first I read about 100 OIN threads on this forum. Then it just comes to personal preference within some parameters. I wanted the power of lipo but wanted to keep it lighter than some of the larger battery packs, so I went with 2 cell lipo. Also, once you decide what type of battery you prefer, your speed control tells you what types and sizes of batterys it will take. Mine will do up to a 3 cell lipo and anything less than those as well. I hope this helps, I'm still pretty novice. In my opinion you can't go wrong with lipo so find yourself a good speedo that will take a 2 or 3 cell lipo and then enjoy the power and longer run times. For a charger I went with a pretty affordable balance charger I found on ebay. I like it and it does everything. fast and slow charging, balance charging, discharging, and storage. It's simple to program to the perameters of whatever type of battery you're using and charges any type of battery. It's called an iMAX B6 AC B6AC Lipo NiMH RC Battery Balance Charger Discharger. It was about $45.00 shipped. Thanks for the compliments. I'll post more pics once I get the stealth tranny and rest of the hardware/parts installed.

I see the stealth now
I couldn't get my 6 gear to hold much power without slipper badly, so it came out...

Yeah, I had to tear it all apart for other things to go in so I decided to go ahead and put the stealth. LOL, I had a spare one that had bearings in it from some old 3 piece wheeld and a 6 gear tranny...so, i put the bearings in the stealth and then it in the runner...it's best performing tranny I've had.
