I finally got a Tamiya Bruiser. Well, half of one.

I found it on ebay. It was over priced and relisted 3 times. The seller declined my offer, so I bit the bullet and bought it.

I am missing a lot of parts. It will probably never be a complete original truck like I wanted. For now Im just going to piece it together with what I can get to make it a running 4x4 truck.

Are there any part sources out there besides Ebay ? Would the re re parts be interchange-able ?

The truck was just released again, so parts should be available through Tamiya. But if your looking for used parts Ebay is probably the place.

I went to Tamiya USA . They have a lot of parts ,but most dont have pictures.
Would the original part numbers be the same as the re-re part numbers?

I think the hardest to find / most expensive part will be a complete transmission.

I am starting to think it'd just be cheaper to buy a Re re kit off ebay

Be carefull when buying parts for a re-re to put on an origonal bruiser. The axles and transmission share no parts between the 2. However if you can find a complete re-re transmission it does fit in the origonal bruiser frame and will be much easier to get replacement parts for. From what i've seen a complete origonal transmission sells for roughly the same as a complete re-re trans

Figured it all would have been the same.

I need a transmission, Drive shafts, front U bolts, front shock mounts, front axle steering knuckles ,shafts and bearings. Im just trying to get it mechanically complete and in rolling form before i worry about bumpers ,body and electricals.

If you plan on using the origonal front axle it uses slightly different steering knuckles that the re-re. I haven't tried it myself but it looks like the re-re ones might be made to work with a little jerry rigging.....

The driveshafts are the same as are the shock mounts and u-bolts i think

And thats all i got . I do have the front rims and tires.

I'm curious how much you paid for it as you need a lot of stuff. My recommend is to look out for a more complete truck and use the best of two to build one then sell off the rest. Tamiya made the re re different in a lot of ways. In most aspects they improved it

$175 right now im looking at a $175 transmission on Ebay.

I really hope i can find another parts truck or parts lot to help keep the cost down.

I know of a complete original Bruiser for sale at my local hobby shop. The think the price tag was $550 (i'll have to double check that). I believe it still has the transmitter and instruction manual. I'll be putting it up in the for sale section pretty soon if your not interested.
I'll get some pics in the next couple days.
