RC10 Edinger Survivor

I have been back into RC cars for only a very short time. I stopped racing and sold my original RC10 car around 1986 after the car had sat only competing in a few races. I have recently starting collecting RC10s and was contacted by a guy that wanted to sell the car you see here.
The original owner received it as a birthday gift in September of 1986. This was the complete kit so it cost much more than the family could afford at the time and he is pretty sure his Mother hung onto it for a year or so waiting for him mature a little more before giving it to him. It was assembled with a paint scheme matching his friends Tamiya Rough Rider and ran through two battery charges in his front yard. It was then packed back in the original box and forgotten. It is complete with all the paperwork and box but missing the radio and the battery that had started to corrode. At some point the car was retrieved from an Ex Wife and then spent the next year in the sleeper of his semi truck before being unpacked in Denver. It is said to have been through every state in the US. I hadn’t planned on a shelf queen but I think this one deserves to only be displayed after its journey.

Awesome find. Cool paint job too.
That wing needs some trimming though.

Cool story. That paint scheme is classic looking on there.

I thought you guys would like this.
The body is poorly trimmed and while the paint job looks good in the photos it is painted on both sides of the body and clear coated on the outside. The paint used is regular enamel instead of lexan paint. The wing is cracked beyond the trim line as well. I bought a new body from Tower and a buddy of mine gave me an NOS wing still in the packaging last weekend. It is however the wider unit so at some point I will have to find the correct narrow one. So other than a cleaning and a new body/wing its headed for the shelf!

Sure thing , I have one already that I had issues with sizing and wouldnt allow me to post. I will edit that original post to include all three photos that I was attempting to post. I will also get some additional shots that show close up areas that folks would like to see.
