Hello all,
It seems to be generally agreed that the long-arm Rc10 does best with 25 degrees of caster. Unfortunately, the 25 degree caster blocks are discontinued and hard to find. There's currrently one set on ebay, $30 shipped. Ouch.
What's the easiest way to get 25 degrees of caster with currently available parts? B4 casters?

Ok, thanks. Are they compatible with the stock steering blocks?
Edit: never mind, I just read they're not. I also read about bump steer and incompatibility with the A&L bellcrank.

You can use B4 20 degree, or B4 30 degree turned around backwards, to get 25 degrees. These will be wider than the stock, which is fine if you put them on a short arm, but for wide (CE) arms, it ends up s a bit too wide I think. I like the backwards 30 degree carriers on my short arm, it moves the front axles up and forward a bit, which I think is a good thing, but that's just me.

The B4 carrier is really meant for B4 wheels, steering and axles too. Mixing and matching will end up being a matter of personal preference if you care about steering precision. Don't be afraid to try things though. By no means is the old RC10 steering setup some holy grail of perfection that had some endless amount of r&d go into it.

you have to drill them out to 1/8" to even put them on the old style arms. probably be better off getting b4 knuckles, king pins and axles too. most if not all people do.

oh, and i think i was wrong on the degree of castor block. pretty sure you need a 20 degree b4 block to get 25 on the old rc10's. not a 30.

6215 - The 25 degree for the RC10 as well as B2
7212 - The 25 degree for the B3.

On the B4, the kickup is 25 not 30 degrees, so you need to +5 degrees..
9592 - B4 20 degree = 25 degree
9593 - B4 30 degree = 25 degree if you swap them left to right.
7922 - GT2 and B4.1/2 30 degree, again need to be swapped l to r.

If you go the drill out route that SCR8P mentions, you'll find that the 7922's are better because they are beefier, with more plastic left over. You will more readily break the 9592/3 if you ream them out to 1/8.

What about Custom Works caster blocks? Remembering Gomachv's B1.5 build he used RC10 casters in CW arms so the reverse should work as well. I've been wanting to try their inclined axles...which look exactly like the old Robinson Racing set up.

Don't know if the CW set up will extend the track width though.

Yeah those. The +/- 5 will give you 25 degrees (and/or 35 degrees) on the RC10.

I'll give them a try. At $4, what have I got to loose?

Looks like it mounts on top of the block...? You can kinda see a hole in the pictures...

They use a king pin through the steering knuckle that has a ball stud at the top like the B3 does...but there is also another hole at the top so you could mount a standard ball stud in and use a regular hinge pin.

Has anyone successfully used these with AE wide arms?

Maybe I'll just order the 30d blocks and see how they work for me.
Edit: Is there any way to get proper track with b4 casters and JC Racing wheels, or will I need new wheels?
I may just go ahead and try the Custom Works caster blocks. Someone has to.
Will 25 degree caster blocks make the car get thrown around less by bumps compared to 15 degree?
