Vintage, Vintage, Vintage... I'm getting tired of it!

Is anyone else getting tired of seeing the word "vintage" used on just about everything? I'm not so worried about the fact that the word is mis-used. It's definition has to do with age and quality of WINE, ie: vino! To properly use the word, by accepted practices, a date is added, such as vintage 1993. It's akin to the word "circa" used in dating an era for items (circa 1850). It seems that EVERY item I see on Egay is "vintage". I think its a cop-out by people who don't know what they have or are too lazy to do the research. A lot of times, it appears to be used to mean "old", "broken", "heavily used" and "over-priced". Just tell me what you have... I don't care how old it is!

Okay, that's enough ranting... I'll take my meds now. Peace out! 8)

I understand what you guys are saying and I know it's being abused, but try to find an original B4 bumper in mint condition!

I think the use, or mis-use as the case may be, of certain adjectives has almost priced our hobby out of existance. RC10 "stuff" commands such a premium because it is "vintage, rare, mint" that every Tom, Dick and Harry is scouring garage and estate sales for anything RC related so they can jack the price for an instant profit. We are so entralled with our little toys that we have facilitated this escalation. I wonder if someone right now is "investing" in off the shelf, readily available RC kits in order to catch the next wave of "vintage, rare, mint" collectors.

Meds haven't kicked in yet so still ranting! :x

I agree... "vintage", and "mint" are my most hated.

Actually, I pretty much hate everything these days. I guess I'm just getting old... "get off my lawn!".
