I have a 2.4 ghz setup on my bandit, and I have steering capability but no throttle. Kinda embarrassed to post this but I need a hand in diagnosing the problem

Also a symptom I'm having is that the remote flashes a blinking red light instead of the solid green

Is this the vxl and the traxxas 2.4?

did it work before and just stop working or is this a new setup you just picked up?

The bandit came with a stock 2 channel Traxxas , but had a glitching problem so I upgraded to the 2.4 ghz setup

did you ever get the 2.4 set completely so that it worked correctly? The programming on the thing sucks but it sounds like you just missed a setup step...

Setting it back to factory settings will only work if you have the traxxas electronics in there. Since the esc has changed you need to reprogram it to the radio. I hate the programming on the traxxas 2.4 radios.

I just had a Maxx here that I was yapping about in another thread. the third channel was reversed. I left it alone because of the same thing. Too much of a hassle going threw all the paces to set it up. Why didn't they just set it up like the Associated's xp3-ss

This rang a bell, though in my case, it was a FlySky GT3B transmitter/receiver and Hobbywing off-brand ESC. I also was wondering why the damn thing never "armed", it just flashed red...if I remember correctly, I made the n00b mistake of leaving the little binding jumper stuck in the receiver after binding it. What, you mean you have to remove it and put your ESC plug back in??

yea is it traxxas? if its the traxxas 2.4 thats your first problem. please call traxxas if its a traxxas remote problem.. traxxas has the worst 2.4 ever made. the problem is people are getting help from other people instead of calling traxxas. if everyone that had a 2.4 problem called traxxas for a fix maybe they would realize how much they suck and would put some knobs on the 2.4 remotes.

I'm trying to set up a FlySky GT3C receiver/transmitter and a Hobbywing off-brand ESC (HobbyKing X-Car) and am having a bit of trouble.

Instructions say they ship all of their products bound. This doesn't seem to be the case. Red light is flashing on the receiver when I send power to it from the ESC.

So, I put the jumper plug in ch3 and then it says to connect the battery to the VCC channel (4). I don't have a little battery with a connector like they show in the picture. I'm guessing it might be an airplane thing....I don't know.

So I put/leave my ESC connector in ch1 so that it has power. Is that right?

Instructions say TWO LEDs flashing. I only see one. ???

Turn on ESC

Press and hold "bind" on transmitter and turn on transmitter.

Red light on receiver turns sold red. This sounds, according to the instructions, to be correct.

Remove binding plug.

Doesn't work. ????

Also, if I power off and then back on again, the single red light on the receiver is flashing again, as though it's unbound.

***I have not charged either of the batteries; the car LiPo or the transmitter LiPo. Both have enough power to turn on and spin the fan on the ESC, but is it possible that the trouble I'm having is due to very low battery power? Both batteries are brand new and never charged. Whatever charge they have in them, they were shipped with.

might try calibrating throttle or checking lipo cutoff as it sounds as if you might be in safe mode.

Uhhhhh.....I had the servo in Ch.2 and the ESC in Ch.1

Then I read the manual, looked at the diagram on like pg.1 and realized I had them mixed up from their proper locations.

Everything works.

And for the record, this transmitter is great. Very easy to adjust trim, end points (very useful for L/R servo travel), etc.
