Wow - so think about how far the tech has come from the days of Ni-Cd batteries in RC where they lasted just minutes. Now we have huge power and run times - now fast forward say another 10-20 years and we have batteries that are so thin and small, with runtimes that are now measured in hours, and recharge in few minutes.

Or a 200mph RC10


The best thing will be full sized electric cars will finally become viable rather than a joke.

Also those toy helis which only last a few minutes will no doubt fly for hours now. To be honest after one hour of anything I would be bored. So I guess once you hit those run times you may as well make the battery as small and light as possible. So... imagine an RC10 with a battery pack way smaller than the ESC. Traction may well be harder to find though.

lets face it. your lucky to have not to destroyed those toy heli's after 5 minutes XD.

I got one of those things way back and it had a bent shaft going to the rotors, funniest flying copter i seen. if you didnt mess with the throttle, it would just fly back and forth like a pendulum in like a 3 foot arc.

coaxial? (twin rotors) , they all do that.

I guess all the crazy robotic suits and military tech that has always been held back by low battery power may finally become a reality. If they are able to scale it up as they hope it may even make electric flight a reality for daily commuters. We may finally get our jetpacks!
