all in all great deal and a great start in the hobby with the least amount of cost. sad part was cause the truck was so cheap and i saw my buddy bash the heck out of t3s i went very rough on the truck. first thing to bust was the rear mounts/rear chassis section. many other parts like top shaft ,slipper, pinion gear, and motor went bad. so i figured worst case id take the bearings out to put in another rc10 only to find out they put a off beat sized bearing in the center/idler gear(pretty sure idler gear and top shaft use same size bearing on t3). left them bearings in, replaced the rest with bushings. then gave the truck to a guy i worked with to get him started in the hobby. so fun truck to play around with, and alot better then starting out with a toysrus rc. just not the t3 we know kinda a sheep in wolfs clothing

That looks like the Thunder Tiger truck. I always wondered if the Thunder Tiger metal rear plate and nose plate are the same as the T3 or "cheaper"

TT uses an other plate, it's plastic and won't fit on an RC10. They offer an upgrade metal one, but then you'd also need the Rear Suspension Mount Set (3° Toe/3° Anti-Squat) ASC9267. Other option is to use the Asso rear chassisplate (9241) and Asso motormount (9245). I personally would go for this one!
TT idler gear uses metric bearings and diffrent shaft. rest of the gears is interchangable.
good luck,
ps sorry for my lack of english

Original T3, I wouldn't buy a clone since there's just no way it can take the punishment that an original can. For instance, I tried out a TT chassis just to see how long it would last on a T3... 1 month

I allmost bought a TT around X-mas time for the kiddo then remembered what happened to the chassis so I decided to restore a T3 for him instead.

after the rear broke on the mrp/t3 i put on a metal t3 rear. i didnt know it was a different shaft for idle gear too.. yea id stay away from the tt t3 now even if it was a great deal. my thing is i dont like ball diff bashers so no more t3s for me ill stick with my t4s for bashing.

@ longboardnj: I'm not too familiar with T4's, but i thought they also use a ball diff?
@ teman: so TT chassis is crap? does TT use an other kind of plastic? plastic doesn't look/feels different at all.... Where can i get an original new T3 chassis these days?

longboard, I suggest a used t3. I just picked up a TT t3 front body mount and the material is noticeably cheaper, similar to Tamiya

I am truly amazed that I have not broken more parts on my t3.

The carbon formula seems different to me and they don't make carbon composite versions of anything.
I snagged a new chassis off the bay last week, but I waited quite a while for that one to pop up. Rollers go pretty cheap, you could grab one to restore or just flip the parts you don't want. I know Sheldons Hobbies has some B3 chassis left, you could call the to see if they have any T3's left.
