My no longer upcoming JRX build

I have been collecting a few parts and scored an old JR. T from a guy a the local track to kick start all of this and now it is down to deciding what to use to built this mutt. I have a used carbon chassis coming in the mail and enough parts to put the car together with the rear H-arm and long front shocks with either New RPM parts or stock losi stuff and either the LRM trans or the XX retro fit trans.

I am having trouble deciding which way to go so I thought I would see what your opinions are?

Would you use the RPM suspension pieces or the the stock losi stuff?

Which trans would you pick? The retrofit XX is new in the box but the LRM would also be new build with the exception of some bearings and I would add the A&L power clutch that is in my tool box. The car will most likely be brushless powered how big kinda depends on what I have laying around but at most 4600 kv.

The car will see some use but being as I have plenty of modern stuff to run it will be limited. I am considering using the XX trans and RPM parts to build what my JRX2 would have become had I not got out of the hobby and into real cars at 16. I might even go as far as to throw a hydra drive on there as well.

Build it how you like.
I like the idea of building what you would have raced.
Not stock but not all blinged out either.

I will try to remember to take pics of the build but I tend to get lost in what I am doing and forget about a taking pics.

Parts teaser pic.

I have more parts to gather and I am rethinking the carbon chassis as I have a Pro SE body that should fit on the stiffazell chassis and the carbon one I bought is rougher than the pics showed.

Got to love new in packet parts! 8)

I built my runner/racer JRX2 from mostly used stock parts, the only upgrades were those to address known areas of weakness, like the Robinson Racing trailing arm mounts & the stiffer/tougher steering arms from the JRXT, a slipper clutch to soften the 'blow' of a brushless motor on the stock (albeit ballraced) LRM gearbox, also period wheel adapters to allow the fitment of 2.2" wheels for modern tyres. My aim is to start off with a car that it geometry-wise as Losi originally intended, the plan with mine is to gradually alter the car bit by bit with later JRX series parts as & when I feel the change would benefit the way the car drives :) I like the fact that I have now experienced the Jrx2 buggy as if it had come straight out of the kit box, I now effectively have my own 'datum' from which any adjustment/addition if a new part can be compared.

That was my chosen route, but the beauty of building these cars & having a retrospective catalogue of aftermarket & upgrade parts to chose from that we can be very individual & specific with our builds (so long as we manage to find that illusive specific part) I look forward to seeing what you end up building!!!

Here is how it sits tonight. I hope to have it in roller form by the end of the week but I am waiting on some axles that are the right length for the xx trans as mine is a truck trans.
