do you think the b4 is fragile?

lately i've been seeing alot of b4 bashing on rctech, guys calling them super fragile.
i know that the new kits ball cups are for the birds but arms, hinge pin mounts, etc....
i don't see it. granted i'm running a first gen factory team b4, maybe the newer versions are fragile but i don't see guys complaining or breaking at the track.
anyone have an opinion on this?

I split a B4 chassis clean in half. So yes they are fragile compared to a more forgiving tougher material. Stiff does not equate to tough. But then again they are light and designed to win races by people who should not be crashing at all!

i don't even want to know how you did that. it couldn't have been on a track. lol

I've raced a couple of B4's across the years... a first-gen FT B4, and a B4.1 which then went on to a worlds-like setup... I've broken a few parts, a couple of front arms, a couple of front shock towers, a few ballstuds, but always on hard hits.
I think it really comes to how you use it, it's a racecar after all, if peeps compare this to Savages and Slashes, then, yes, it's way more fragile... but compared to the rest of the thouroughbred community, it's at least on par.
if you've broken a chassis in half, then chances are you did something very wrong, driving wise... I've seen it happen, but rarely, and usually on BAD landings... saying that the car is not solid based on this "experience", mmmh...

the only things i have broken are 2 front towers (just the outer section, still finished the race) and 1 steering rack. i think my car was new in 2006,
it's all carbon except for the chassis.

I think the B4 is quite strong for being as trim as it is. The only upgrade I think is a must if you dont have one already is the FT front pin brace.

I've been racing the same B4 once/twice a week for the last 2 ½ years and I could count on one hand how many times I've broke. Granted I keep up on maintenance and update/rebuild the buggy as needed. It's probably the most reliable race car I have.

this is how i feel. it really boggles my mind that it's being reffered to as fragile.

I would like to see some more RPM products for the B4 though for everyday and novice use. Since doing all the RPM mods I could on our family's fleet of T4's there is much less fixing and more driving.

If they are comparing the b4 to a monster truck I imagine it has more to do with suspension travel. I've seen some buggies damaged by larger monster trucks when they crash, but that's just plain physics:) I have been very hard on my RC10GT and it has held up well. My B4 and T4 have been very reliable, but I don't really use them for bashing.

nope, just a thread comparing rb6, the new yok, the b4, dex210 and some other 2wd's.

Is the b4 fragile? No
Are the other cars mentioned stronger? Yes
Having said that, I don't think it's by much

I see a bunch of kids running modern cars at hyper high speeds with super fast motors over giant jumps on super hard packed clay tracks. The problem to me isn't the car. I've run my old RC10's and JRX's on a blue groove track and always have trouble keeping them together whereas the modern cars aren't phased. The newer cars are far more durable. Newer drivers are far less reliable.

I saw that thread. I automatically left it when my IQ fell 50 points.
