Well that is odd way to destroy a transmission

I took the Jrx-Pro SE out racing this last weekend. I was testing the Bell Cranks under race conditions.
During the 10minute main the buggy just came to a stop. The motor would run but the slipper was slipping and not moving the input shaft.
I opened it up to find this. Not at all what I was expecting.

In the main at Vonats, I had an e-clip get embedded in one of my 6 gear's nylon idlers. Amazingly, it got through the race.
That same weekend, I stripped idlers, stripped spurs, pulled apart bearings, and had several other e-clips come off in the transmission.
I'm just saying it happens.

Ouch!

how are the other two gears (diff & layshaft)?
I had a similar odd occurrence with my XXX CR2 the first time I ran the PSI Racing 4 gear-gearbox, one of my diff balls broke into two halves, one half found its way out & embedded itself into one of the idlers, not being familiar with the gearbox & with people saying 'oh yeah, those 4 gear gearboxes normally sound rough' mean't I ran the car like it for a couple of weeks!!

The layshaft is fine, the diff gear was replaced. Probably would have been useable in a pinch though. If it had been 2.61 truck gear I probably would have saved.
Before this I had never really destroyed any gears in my transmission cases. All the years of racing and the gears had outlived my usage of a car or truck. I had stripped a spur gear or 2 on Kyosho ZX5 4wd due to dirt and stones. I guess I have always been good at setting my slippers, or just dumb luck.
