Just came from a old school hobby shop and found 1/4 inch black 3piece rims.. never saw or heard if this but thought they were way cool .were they a limited iitem back then?

You could get them white, yellow and black. 1 piece or 3 piece, just like the buggy.

To my knowledge the only consequence was weight vs 1 piece wheels. With brushless power it might actually be a nice thing to swap tires when they are spent.

Does anyone else agree?

I tried racing with some 3 piece rims on a high traction carpet track and it would occasionally pull a bead out. On a low - med grip surface they should be ok.

I've never really liked black rims.
