Wish I knew someone who collected cars from this series! I'm got all the paperwork, stickers, and window masks for a Trail Blaster, as well as a new untrimmed Hoppin' Mad body.

The gas versions of the series caught my attention.

I had an electric one. Fun little car to drive, but it had one weird trait: the rear tires whistled whenever you went over a bump as the air whooshed out. Made a very funny sound over bumpy asphalt at speed.

That must be the "Wheelie Whistler" model :) They picked some interesting names, so that fits right in.

How many of this series did they make? Was it four of each of the gas/electric buggies, with just a different body? It seems like the chassis is the same across gas/elec, and the upper deck starts out identical but has pop-out sections for gas to git the tank (and something else).

I always wanted one for a strange reason and that is because I think the tires and rims fit my kyosho kart 10 and those tires and rims are pricey and hard to find plus the motor and fuel tank, The price was right back in the day I saw them on sale in 2000 at isacks, houston texas $75.00 I should have got two.

Yeah, I think mine was called the "Trail Blaster" or something. Looked a lot like a Geo Tracker. Local hobby shop had it on clearance for $49. Figured I couldn't go wrong for that price. They also had a nitro one that was a sports car, kinda like a cartoony Ferrari, for the same price, but I never really liked nitro. The electric one was pretty cool; you could put the battery up on top so it did wheelies as soon as you touched the throttle (or full backflips if you floored it...), or down transversely across the chassis in the "normal" Kyosho position, and then it only did wheelies when you got to half-throttle.

I beat it half to death in the parking lot of the apartments I lived in at the time, and then sold it on consignment at the same shop for $30. :) Best RC deal I ever had. Of course, now, I wish I'd bought the nitro one and just squirreled it away.

There was an earlier "Wheelie" series too.

They also made a "Mrs. Wheelie" car too that was pink. So there's at least 4 from the earlier series in addition to the later ones on this chassis:

I've got a NIB Wheelie Beetle.

side note: I believe I bought this from the member here "Jerzi" years ago before I even knew about RC10talk.

I've been working on a matching Wheelie bus based on the later style chassis and a shortened Kamtec body. Nice dent in the body side I have to fix from being shipped with another body jammed inside of it...

building fender flares now that will cover more of the tire and add to the cartoony style.

I´ve allways wondered, which came first - The Ayk Bun Bun racer or Mr. Wheelie ?

j-sou, you have a nice collection of these cool buggies! The Kamtec bus body solution and fender flares are very creative. I am lacking in the artistic department, so I am always impressed when I see other people's creativity.

Thank you! I work as an auto designer (on many levels), so I suppose some of that trickles down to the 1/10 scalel.

Typical me, beginning a new project before finishing the previous one.
