So I was going through some cabinets the other day and found a bottle of years old nitro fuel I forgot I had. As I recall, it has a short shelf life, even though it was still sealed and inside a cabinet. I don't even want to try to seeing if it would still work. So what's the best way to dispose of it? Just pour cat litter in and then toss? Down the drain or in the gutter is not an option. Thanks in advance for your input and help.

I've always used it as weed killer.

What others have said. Also, you could mix it in with any used motor oil you might have, before taking the oil to the local Quick Oil Change/auto store for recycling.

Was it ever opened? The main concern with nitro is that it absorbs moisture once its been opened. If you kept it sealed (tightly) and it was in a climate controlled area indoors I'd try it. I've gotten by on year old nitro in my planes that was stored inside.

Mix it in your gasoline automobile if its newer than 04'. After all, its just ethanol with some castor bean oil in it, synthetic oil, and a tiny bit of nitromethane. Your car will run awesome on 1.5% nitro!
