Newbie from Oz

Hi all, just a quick intro to myself.
I'm located in Melbourne Australia. An AE nut and finally got myself a gold pan.
I've been sifting though all the info here, and to be honest at the moment I am still a little lost as to what I've actually purchased.
The thread on the history of the rc10 is absolutely great and I commend all that have contributed to help newbies learn more about this iconic car.
I guess the next thing to do is post up some pics, and get some advice.
Basically I want to try and get the car as period correct as possible. I want to have it driveable but I'm not planning on racing this one. I've pre ordered the re release for that.
Looking forward to the build.
Mick.

Welcome to "Gold Fever"!! :) (From one Aussie to another)

Plenty of info and knowledge to be shared and enjoyed here.

The Mods (myself included) are pretty easygoing going fella's (except that SCRAP8 bloke - he is the soup nazi!! ;) ) I would recommend getting over to our "Rules of Engagement" section here: http://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=54&t=154" and getting an idea of how things are run - above all - we dont tolerate swearing, bitching (too much) etc.

Again, welcome aboard and enjoy your time here mate.

Cheers

Darryn

So are you fellow Aussies attending the vintage event in Sydney.
I personally wont be, but i believe there will be an enduro slash race meet at my local towards the end of the year.

Hey, she's in the "holes in pan" thread. Needs a fair bit of tlc. Trying to get ready for a local enduro towards the end of the year.

Should be a decent turn out.
There is talk of a split event.
One part as a normal 5min race, the other as a team enduro.
1 car, 2 drivers.
I cant wait.

Ant Howard was the moving force behind the first of the vintage enduro's at Knox. I competed in the first two and they were a real hoot. Great bunch of guys to enjoy the weekend with too. I used to fly down from the Gold Coast to make this event. On the 3rd year it was slated for the other Melbourne track but it got washed out. Some quick thinking (and fast talking) got us into an indoor off road facility called Sideways from memory. Another great year and event.

Some video footage....
