Took a chance on a rather high starting price auction that had 0 bids the other day, was listed with extremely blurry pics as a gold rc10 'never played with' .

Arrived a couple days ago. Paid $200, not a smokin deal by any means but I still think it was a great price for what I got. Pretty happy with it.

Also included a new never used Futaba Attack 2 stick radio in box.

I would say this tire qualifies as 'never run'.... :)

Here's the one major issue I found.

Used a large Futaba servo, which resulted in the chassis being drilled for the throttle resistor (per the manual, I checked.... ).

However, they also offset the battery trays by about 1/4 by drilling 4 additional holes for those mounting screws. Extremely unfortunate, but not the end of the world.

Fully re-kitted (lol) to be cleaned and reassembled. More pics to come once I have her back together.

Quick video of the first test run, slapped a battery in it and had to adjust the resistor wiper arm and steering servo. More evidence this thing was in fact never even test run before I got it.

Gears sound a bit tight and battery strap fail  but otherwise she looks great! Those MSC don't like slow speeds and long grass so be careful you don't hurt it. I love the old attack radio too, that was my second radio I owned.

Pinion might have been a bit tight against the spur. Also, I took the 6-gear apart and one side binds a bit, the out drive gear to center gear mesh is super tight. Will have to work that out.

Who can provide the quickest link to a full set of cheap bearings for this car? Its a bushing model, might as well upgrade while its back in kit form here.... lol.

Cleanup Pretty much done, must say I'm happy with the results so far. I had a moment of panic when I thought one of the ball cups went down the drain. Even took the drain pipe apart. Found it in the container with the metal parts in it. oops.

Got some more work done this weekend, with minor interruptions for a Saturday night fire party in the back yard, and a Sunday morning ER visit with my wife who fell and dislocated her shoulder. Again.

Anyway....

Going back together nicely. Taking my time and following the manual to the letter. Decided that I will keep the bushings for now, I already have a mint bearing car and it will be cool to also have this one bone stock as it came out of the box.

Getting started here:

This is as far as I got over the weekend. Also tires were assembled and installed as seen on the last pic here. It is hanging next to my other gold shelfer, with it's new Lohas wheels. :) They will make a good pair of shelf mates.

You did a great job cleaning that up, looks mint! Did you get a good deal on it?

edit: Just seen that you paid $200 for it! Good score IMO!
