Didn't expect to ever find this rare AE chassis
So I guess I have to try to build a box art replica.

this is one of those chassis plates that i always wanted to have cut. send someone a tq10 chassis and say here, make this in woven cf.

but i must admit, i never studied the pic on the box good enough to notice the nose plate hole up front, or thought it would have an offset battery box.

That would be the perfect graphite chassis for AE to re-re as an aftermarket part. ;)

Should be a cool project, especially if you get the front arms machined to match.

Looks like AE used the standard gold pan chassis machine set-up / program and drilled away.

Makes sense. Where did their CF come from? Did they make it or buy it?

just like the early tq10 chassis:
IMAG2949.jpg
in the winning edge video, they have a machine that countersinks all of the holes in the tub at once. i would guess they had one that drilled them all at once as well, and the graphite chassis plates were drilled on them too. (around 4:15 on video)

Where did you find that chassis? Was it in a bag with label?

Cool build btw, and I agree, get Jake to mill some arms for that perfect effect!

Okay so I saw this chassis in person yesterday and meh it's alright, seems a bit flimsy :P

Seriously, this thing is pretty bad ass and crazy thick I'd say about 4mm!

starting to wish I would have bought this instead of giving the heads up on the auctioneer. Cant wait to see the finished product. I do love the lightweightness of the chassis though. My graphite car feels like it weights nothing. must be one hell of a racer.
