Is my Paranoia acting up, or have I done, or not done, something I should, or should not have. I ask because I just knew this was the place I could pick up everything I needed in no time, but only 2 or 3 guys here have contacted me at all. Meanwhile, I see practically everything I've been looking for being sold on eBay...by more than 1 or 2 RC10Talk Members. A lot of it has gone cheaper than I would have been GLAD to pay, in a LOT even. Ive accidentally missed the only 2 things I would have bid on as a single item, or am in the middle of "negotiations" for others, in LOT Deals.
Im not lonely (I have a Wife and Kids), or needy, just wondering why some would rather sell on eBay than even offer to me. You guys seem to help each other out ALL the time, but Im having a little better luck at Non-Vintage Sites.
And I guess this post wont help the situation IF it is something Ive done. Like I said, maybe Im just being paranoid. If there's something I need to do, or not do, please, just let me know. This is a GREAT site, and I just want to actually participate, rather than just lurk.

WOW, Im NOT the Nerd, that THAT (^) sounds like.

Hi mate, if ever you would have done something wrong here, you would have known it for a long time, mostly honest and ready to help chaps here! Like I saif earlier, I'm ready to help you as I do have a bunch of stuff from previous restos I don't need anymore. It's just that I'm a bit lazy and don't know exactly what you are looking for. PM me with your updated list and I'm sure we can sort something out  Some more wine with your cheese? (Just kidding mate)

Sorry as I'm in no position to help with your wanted stuff :( (I have very little stuff myself) but I can share my experiences of this forum with you and hopefully shed some light.

Most if not all of the members here are extremely helpful but very busy chaps and chapesses, this in turn I think may lead to unintentional forgetfulness (trying to keep on top of everthing going on here is almost a full time job :) ) so a little thread bumping now and then usually does the job.

I am also aware from my own point of view that I pay more attention to individual threads looking for small numbers of items rather than one big thread looking for lists full of stuff (I get bored with long lists).

One of the other issues I have is I don't know all the correct part numbers for things so I am sure I have missed things I need and have things that others want but don't realise it.

Anyway I am sure there's nothing personal going on, just try and make it as easy as possible for people to help, I've needed a lot of help and received a lot of help from the guys on this site 8)

Just keep plugging away

I am going to have to agree with Scr8p's comment on your original post. I got so confused reading it, I honestly didn't understand what you were looking for. Even though I try to make an effort not to be like this, I think it is human nature that we things are complex people tend to not bother with reading and trying to figure things out.

Yeah, what they said.

I don't read every "wanted" thread on the boards, and often miss stuff guys want or are looking for. I had a really big lot of stuff that got parted out recently (and is still going), and in many instances, I just need it gone and cash in it's place, so I didn't pay attention if someone was looking for something specific all the time. Actually, unless its a thread looking for one or two specific things, I rarely catch the big long lists, too.

Mostly, I forget what I have and what guys need. Just one of those things. :|

And like always, if you see something you want that I have listed on eBay, and you're on this forum, send me a note. Make me an offer. A lot of the stuff I listed recently I don't know what the street value will be, and I put it up to let it seek it's own level. The worst I can do is turn you down... ;)

I'm just lazy  . Well, not really just lazy, my life is way topsy turvy. Did I just say topsy turvy? Anyway, I am a bit slow to react to threads. Between teaching and regular job which just changed Monday and kids and a wife that think I should be at her heals when she says 'boo' and a business I am trying to shut down, wow I am getting exhausted just thinking about it. Send me a pm on what you need and I will see what I can do. I got a bunch of stuff I am getting ready to unload. Wife think my allowance is too high. I say less than nothing is still nothing

Daddy needs some play dough.

You can’t blame people for selling on eBay. I have experienced it here and other message boards, members will be wishy washy like a mo fro. You offer something up; people show lots of interest then never pony up the cash. EBay has certain finality to it. When people bid on and win your item, they are bound by a binding contract to pay for it. Plus eBay in many instances will net you the highest price for your item.

Bingo.

And I went back and looked at your "wanted" threads... I recall why I didn't remember anything on them.

To each his own, but my own personal preference is......

I rarely ever post anything for sale or link to my auctions in the BST forum (every now and then I will, but not regularly). I agree with Jim, sometimes people are wishy washy (not all the time, just sometimes) and it is much easier to post on ebay. The other thing I am not comfortable with, I don't feel comfortable when people ask me to "make an offer" and the same is true from my end, I don't like asking someone to make me an offer. Put it up on ebay for 0.99 and I will make my offer.

But on the other hand, I would prefer, OVER ALL, to trade. It is much more rewarding, I think on both ends. I have traded more than anything else here and hope to continue to do so. So, if you or anyone wants to trade away, just let me know.

Just my personal preference.

Given the amount of parts you need you would be much better off getting a decent shape ebay car and having some spares of your own when you are done.
The wife will come around to accept it, especially if you explain how much it would cost in poatage alone to get needed bits from 4-5 different sources.

For christmas I'm getting a Gold lunchbox from the kids. On her own, my wife bought 2 so I could build one, and keep one NIB as it is a limited edition.

I just realized that my post might sound a bit redundant to some about making offers versus using ebay as making an offer (what is the difference).... but nonetheless, that I what I prefer.

You think your wife has but I would like to hear from Mrs Lexan about her training.
