Upgrades for my 18R

I've had my 18R for a few years now. After installing a mamba 8000k brushless, the car is so fast it's almost undrivable. The stock chassis and suspension is super flexy. So after winning a set of aluminum arms for $5 I figured I might as well do it up. So I bought the rest of the stuff. Here's some pics

I found out the hard way that these sweet 18T wheels won't work on an 18R

That is cool looking! Nice parts you are throwing at it.

Too bad the wheels don't fit. Do they have the hex mount or the pin style and what is causing them not to fit?

Man that looks sweet. Too bad the wheels don't fit. They look pretty nice. Are you going to race it at all or just cruise around in the street in front of the house?

I had an 18B that I did up with an aluminum chassis and many of the same parts you did. I had a Mamba and Castle 5300 in it I think but I was running a 3S lipo. Thing SCREAMED and was almost as fast as my RC10 on 2S lipo with a 5700 and MMP. Kind of miss it - the thing was nice and small, and would take so much abuse. Hmm...

Anyways - all you need is the correct RC18B / T axles and you will be able to use those wheels. Nothing else is different as far as I recall.

The wheels are really made for the 18T. The axles on an 18R are much shorter. I used the axles from my 18T and found the wheels stick out from the body quite a bit. I thought about cutting the fenders of one body and bolting them to another to give it a flared body look. This would hinge on being able to find road tires to fit the wider 18T wheels

What chassis is that? I'd love to get something like that for my rc18b. The stock chassis seems so weak and flimsy and cheap looking.

The chassis is made by 3Racing. The quality and fitment were very good.

On another note. Does anyone know of a company that makes aluminum wheels for the 18R? I was hesitating on buying a set of chrome plated plastic wheels

Those titanium diff drives look sweet. I'm pretty sure the wheels in those links are really only for the 18T. the issue is that the wheels for the 18T are way wider than those for the 18R
