I don't know if you saw my last response on Clodtalk, but in the current issue of rcdriver they did a review of the truck. They loved the fit and finish of the parts and said it was a durable great handling truck. Their only complaint is the stock body is on the thin side so a little flimsy. But you could pickup any aftermarket body and run it.
They used all Turnigy electronics in it as well. They had the truck, tx & rx, esc, motor, servo, and battery all Turnigy brand for less than $200 shipped. It looks pretty cool. I plan on getting one after Christmas.

Losi XX-4 with Heavy Metal body and adapters to fit current SCT wheels. Way cooler than a Hobby King truck but not very price effective

I believe the only problem was the Body and also the driver,. hahaha. but I think its ok for the price for as long as you can get spares then I think it would be ok. its the guy behind the wheel that counts the most....

Many parts from the hobbyking sct are supposed to be semi interchangeable with the kyosho scr. I've been interested in getting the hobbyking one just to see how it is

I've reviewed a couple of the Hobbyking cars for RC Driver and I will say that they are WAY better than I imagined - I did the Trooper 4 x 4 and the Nitro Rumble 1/8. The Trooper was 'light' in the electronics area - SLOW steering servo. The Nitro Rumble was a LOT better in all regards including an engine that didn't require a bunch of fiddling to make it work.
Top of the food chain - nope!
Good first time vehicles based on ease of use and durability? Yup!
Bodies on all of them are pretty light and flimsy BUT a bending (rather than BREAKING) body can
possibly live to bend another day!
Parts are available from China - usually arrive in a couple of weeks but probably the best course of action would be to order the 'things' we know we might break - arms, body mounts and stuff like that when the car is ordered OR order 2 cars and there's backup for EVERYTHING!

I read your reviews on the Turnigy vehicles. I was a little surprised too see your thoughts on them. It's good to see that they're good vehicles despite their price tag.

Good to see some reasonably-priced kits showing up again, no matter the source. HPI, Traxxas, pay attention... especially if this thing sells.
